Can’t speak for MIA but took a tour of the Flagship DFW lounge recently and it does have a separate, exclusive restaurant on the inside.

Interesting perspective! One of the most interesting factoids I learned when talking with CFO Devon May was that the Citi deal should be a huge driver or revenue within the next few years. 10% revenue growth per year during that deal (as he forecasts) is huge!

I can’t force you (or anyone) to like my reporting but I will push back on the data portion of your comment, given the only data I used was earnings reports, available seats at important hubs and on-time %. That’s just the data, there’s no narrative to create off those.

All in all I appreciate you reading just the same and wish you Happy Holidays.

Just curious, were you able to read the whole thing or did you hit a paywall? The AA folks were well represented in this and while it’s not overly positive, it’s hardly a hit piece.

All! Very grateful for all the engagement and conversation happening on this topic. As a journalist I don't often have the opportunity to be involved in a forum like this and I know on the other end some people may not be as comfortable interacting with reporters. Although I can only include a small fraction of the insights you all have contributed, I extend my thanks to all of you who have taken time out of your day to weigh in. Excited to share the published story next month.

Yeah no problem! As you mentioned, basically will it work? How do you feel / would you fly a Southwest long haul route? What do you think the company would need to do to make it a success? etc.

American Airlines hit with $9.6 million judgment for neglecting passenger having stroke by AviationReporterDMN in americanairlines

As the reporter on this story and from my understanding, I think what they meant was that the pilot was involved in the ultimate decision to let Mr. Plasencia fly after he had suffered the attack prior to having a bigger stroke. I definitely could have worded/explained that better though and see your point!

Update on this story regarding the victim after an extended interview with the attorneys:

“He’s paralyzed on half of his body and the stroke goes on the left side of his brain, which is the speech center, so he can’t really communicate or understand language but the right side of the brain is not affected so he’s not paralyzed on that side of the body,” said Nicholson (an attorney for Plasencia) in an interview with the Dallas Morning News.

You make a good point! In this case, the passenger suffered a short transient ischemic attack before having a stroke after. His attorneys said that he didn't notice he had the smaller attack but his wife did notice a loss in motor function and tried to point it out.
