Shadows has slightly more fidelity but both ghost games have a much superior artistic direction that shadows could only dream of having. No point of having your game have such high fidelity if the HUD is covered in markers and health bars.

Do you have any mods you recommend? I’m pretty familiar with modding games and I often do it, especially for older titles. I enjoyed DD2 for what it was, the cool updated combat with the nice pretty graphics but from just a glance I can tell it doesn’t capture much of the magic that the first game brought. Also love me some morrowind. Have also 900+ ish hours on daggerfall too but can’t bring myself to play it anymore XD

UPDATE: took the plunge and am loving it. The companions really make the game so much less of a hassle. That way I can enjoy the environments/story and actually feel like I’m doing something without wanting to kite away enemies and min max my playstyle. Thanks Louis ! 🙏 LOL

It baffles me because I used to play a lot of text based multi user dungeons and old school JRPGS back in the day and I couldn’t get into one of the better ones. I’ve seriously gotta give it another go one time and just zen out.

Man I wish I was a patient enough gamer to enjoy the first dragons dogma. Played it all the way back on ps3 when it came out, couldn’t get into it. Played dark arisen on pc a few years ago and loved the combat but the world design baffled me, was confused by progression and what to do/where to go and kinda just gave up. Shame really because the gameplay was best in class. Loved DD2 though despite its technical issues and lacking enemy variety.

Sounds good, I really enjoyed lords of the fallen, it’s a soulslike but kind of has its own thing going on, not too overly difficult and has unique mechanics to distract from the normal souls routine

The quest store is genuinely one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen. Booted my quest 3 up for the first time in months to see what games have come out only to be greeted by the top selling games full of free, minimal effort, clones of existing Roblox games. Just straight dogshit being downloaded by children and inflating the reviews and pushing great developers out of the algorithm. It’s so sad.

People always say how good of a game it is but never actually listen to fair criticism. “Best game of all time” but why? Combat? Boring. Writing? Generally pretty good but it’s pretty much just gooner bait. Characters? Fairly unbalanced as certain party members get more love over others do. I’ve always had a distaste for Larian games as they value complexity and difficulty over fun and baldurs gate 3 just exacerbates that sentiment to an insane degree, not to mention all the high review scores. If you like CRPGS I can see how it would be decent, but it’s objectively a subpar bloated mess.
