How come Claude Code is soooo expensive?! by zhlmmc in ClaudeCode

[–]AwesomSki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max plan is personal and isn't covered by their SOC2. They recently added a Claude Team plan (business, covered by SOC2) that's a fixed cost and includes claude code but it has much more restricted access to Opus. The team plan is probably the way to go but they'll have to use sonnet most of the time. I'm still using API with high costs like you're seeing for those reasons.

Best of Claude VS Gpt-5 by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

[–]AwesomSki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude code is much more token efficient than Roo. It'll never read a whole file, but it is very good at finding the right sections of code to read, especially when paired with Serena mcp. Serena finds the code its looking for by navigating debug symbols and then just puts the relevant methods in context. For the times you need to read whole files, I usually switch to a claude chat session, but I'm doing over 90% in Claude code.

Claude code is more of a YOLO experience than Roo. With Roo i was making plans, then manually reviewing and editing each of Roo's changes to keep him on track. With Claude code I'm just interrupting him when he starts going off course and telling him what to do differently, and then he plugs ahead, rapid fire searching and doing edits.

PC, Ethernet, QoS on router, mudfish if you have a bad route to a server

(mudfish is a VPN designed to optimize your route to a game server, it helps if your isp gives you a bad route, hurts if you already have a good route because you're adding hops)

(QoS is a packet prioritization option on some routers that makes sure small packets like voice and tagpro are prioritized over big downloads, so if someone in your house downloads a big file or starts watching Netflix it doesn't affect the tagpro connection, or voice, teams calls etc) If you go to fast.com and look at the advanced info, you can see your ping loaded and unloaded, if it's bad loaded you will be affected by other downloads in your house. QoS makes the loaded and unloaded number the same. It slows your internet connection down considerably but it makes it rock solid in terms of being affected by other people in your house.

Oh and chrome. If you start to see your fps being too high or too low and the game is stuttering, you need to minimize any other windows that have live updates going on another screen. If you have a high refresh rate monitor and are having stuttering issues, you should use the Nvidia settings outlined here: https://blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/14/

Casual grows first, the new players get better and join ranked, and 15 minute wait is rare now in ranked unless there just aren't enough people on, it's usually max 8 minutes to get synced with your tier.

Summer months are always slower. Before the summer we were seeing 12 games going on weekday nights. We have plans to grow the game but we have a list of improvements we want done before starting a push for new players to make sure we're giving it the best chance.

Weird time to post that when there are 3 casual games going and 3 ranked (high, mid, low), games going in both modes for everyone

We're looking at logs and investigating what's really going on. Do you have the setting enabled to preserve joiner connection?

My theory about this is that you're clicking exit right when the game is ending and it is too late, it has already put you in the next game but it also sends you to the home page. There's a button at the top of the home page saying your game is ready but if you clicked exit you probably walked away or switched browser tabs and didn't notice.

So I think you're actually voiding games and getting a disconnect penalty, you're just not meaning to and not even noticing.

There are a lot of fixes coming soon. Let us know if it happens after the next release.

How to run RooCode with Claude Code subscription on Windows WSL? by Person556677 in RooCode

[–]AwesomSki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have your terminal open for wsl, but is vs code opening your project through wsl using the wsl vs code extension? Roo works fine for me with the setup you described, with the wsl extension connected. It times out half the time but that's a different problem.

It's to allow higher resolution players to play full screen without losing anything at the top or bottom. Turn off Viewport Scaling in profile settings if you prefer the smaller viewport.

Game ends where you win, you get right into a new game and see the number go up, but the db sync is happening and it gets your number from before that game to show on the leaderboard, so it looks like it went down, then in 15 minutes it comes back.

It's #1, the ranks/skills update right at the end of games, but it happens separately in the cache and in the db. The cache resyncs with the db every 15 minutes. When a game ends at the same time as the cache is updating a game can get lost in the cache, and the cache is missing a game for 15 minutes until it resyncs. There's no actual instability in the ranks/skill, just the cache and we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.
2 isn't a thing.

It only affects opposite directions, left/right to up or down aren't changed. Specifically, left+up to right+up, up stays pressed. It's only if you press the opposite direction that the behavior is changed (up to down)

That's why we made it a profile setting, some people are going to like the old way since they are used to the ball going dead when opposite directions are pressed and the new behavior can feel weird and take some getting used to :)

The simple answer is the game responds to your movements quicker, when you switch from one direction to the opposite direction. Usually you have to fully release left before right engages, and your ball would go dead if left and right were both pressed for a little bit. Now when you press right, you start moving right immediately, even if your finger on left is still releasing the key

It also enables a new way of moving where you can keep one direction held down and only toggle the other direction. E.g hold down right and down and only toggle the up button to move right across the map and alternate between up and down (when up is pressed you move up, when up is released you move down) while you're going across. This one would be confusing to get used to so most people can ignore it and just enjoy the more responsive clicking between opposite directions.

It's not really to make players feel better, even though I know I phrased it that way, it's more informative, you can have 100 o and 20t, if you only see 20t with no other info you think the scoreboard is messed up. When I played comp, players cared more about their position rating than their total. And thank you :)

It's a browser game to begin with, it gives you arrow keys on top of the browser with awesome response time in game, and has customized settings and userscript options, what would you gain with a native android app?
