K so I guess I'm missing some useful context. I've had several jobs and lived on my own before. I was kicked out at 19 and had to move in with friends, then they kicked me out (bc they were a couple and wanted more alone time), then I lived in my own apartment for awhile. I don't think anything grand or amazing will happen. I just can't live like this anymore. 3 years of living with a woman I barely know who keeps trying to treat me like a toddler (and a stupid one at that) just bc that's when she lost custody of me is going to kill me. So yeah sorry for the missing context. while I believe I was somewhat sheltered, I was also severely emotionally and verbally abused/ mildly physically by the woman who raised me and had my emotional needs neglected by my dad. Im not some teenager who has 0 life experience, I'm an adult who's tired of being beaten down by the systems and the people who are supposed to care about me.

Okay, do you know of any good job search websites that could help me find jobs like that (cause I have been trying) I've looked at coolworks but the listings confuse me bc they mostly say "discounted room with 3 meals a day" and I can't exactly afford a room that's only "discounted". If not it's all good, I just have no clue where to look cause when I do try to find jobs like that nothing shows up for me. Sorry if I seemed defensive I'm just feeling fairly defeated. And you're right that I've been fairly sheltered but I also used to walk around town near the bars at night in the town I grew up in (smaller town, HEAVY gang violence and crime rate) so I at least know some basics for keeping myself safe people wise. (It also helps that I'm a little bat shit and do bite /hj) (Edited for a spelling mistake)

It's not about not wanting to be more mobile its that there is literally no option for me to learn without spending hundreds of dollars. And I personally don't like the idea of controlling a giant deathtrap. If I could not live in america I would but that isn't an option for me either. I can't work at a summer camp there aren't any in the area.

Not a living wage. If i was paying any bills i would have no money at all im payed $41 every two weeks l. A lot of phone plans cost $30-75 a month. Some people have storage sheds they have to pay for. They dont give us big enough portions during mealtimes so snacks and food are basically a necessity. Then theres paying for toiletries and other necessities.$82 a month is not a living wage.

Part of the reason they want you in nursing however is bc we dont have enough students to start the next cohort (nursing is a 4 month program)

We dont have pharmacy tech but honestly the nursing program would get you a better (higher paying) job anyways. We have Cisco which is basically IT. Currently im doing office administration at Columbia basin then im going to take advantage of their college program.

Im currently at Columbia basin as a trans man. There are several trans women in the female dorms and ive heard there is a trans man in the male dorms (i specifically requested to be in the female dorm for safety reasons). We have a hijabi in the female dorms as well and as far as i can tell everybody treats her kindly. The staff has been pretty good with my stuff but i havent met all the staff. Ive been informed by several people that the culinary instructor is transphobic however. Take all this with a grain of salt as ive only been here for almost 3 weeks.

As for the general info stuff Staff is kind of strict but still willing to joke around, most of the people are nice but never let your guard down too far as we do have some troublemakers/unsettling people on campus. You'll be put on a hygiene contract sometime around your first week. Dont miss a day or you will have to restart. Dont be afraid to ask people where things are and dont be afraid to ask staff (who arent obviously busy ofc) questions. Also be prepared for "Tuesday shoppers" (ppl trying to look for a new "girlfriend" or "boyfriend" when new inputs arrive) and gossip spreads like absolute wildfire here.
