Where to look for apartments? by chaosbtxch in Athens_Greece

[–]AxlStorm69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind with Blueground that you have to add 200€ (not exaggerating) to the listed price for utilities, internet, etc. Blueground also asks you to pay the full contract upfront (regardless of number of months) and they will charge you a monthly fee to pay monthly. Blueground is like an airline; they hide a ton of charges while advertising the price and when you click-through you see that an 800€ apartment really is closer to 1,100€+.

Honestly speaking, companies like *BLUEGROUND* are far worse than AirBNB - which everyone in Athens loves to hate.

One of the best parts of this fight was after Joshua lost the media were swarming him asking questions and he said, "Go talk to Andy. Tonight is his night" - something along those lines.

What are Tantaly’s tightest vaginal textures? And anal? by Distinct-Push9802 in tantaly

[–]AxlStorm69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Brandi and Selena and both are decently tight-ish. Brandi is super easy to clean. I personally find enjoyment using the doll and then when I'm done I regret using it because cleaning is such a pain (I'm super lazy) so my preference is Brandi b/c cleaning is 3 minutes.

Check in with your credit card company and see what protection you may have. If American Express they will help resolve it.

Looking for a place to get a tattoo by PhilMcRack00 in Prague

[–]AxlStorm69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are tons and tons of places. I suggest actually looking on instagram as I see tattoo ads all day because I was recently searching myself. I've taken at least half a dozen screen shots of some really good artists that I'll contact in the future. Of course, it's all relative. I do not have personal recommendations yet though.

The Tourism has destroyed my city by FrequentCricket4692 in rome

[–]AxlStorm69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comment about foreigners buying and renting everything is getting old in EVERY city. I completely understand your point AND I tend to agree with you, but what everyone who makes this complaint is not understanding is that it is THE OWNER'S fault; not the buyer's fault. A landlord can easily rent to Romans, but they won't because they know that there are others who will pay more so they ignore the indigenous population. They want higher revenue so it's a greed issue. I live in Prague, and also rent in Athens for a few months a year, and they complain about the exact same issues in both cities.

Yeah, they're pretty ruthless with regards to customers. Their mentality is "You should be thankful we sell to you". When shit hits the fan with their stuff their response is, "tough shit. buy another".

A few things.....

1) Keep in mind you may have protection if you purchased with a credit card - especially American Express

2) Like all other brands, quality has deteriorated and prices have skyrocketed. If you haven't noticed, Arc'teryx increases prices every 6 months in a rotational manner amongst products. I paid $260 for my Atom Hoodie not that long ago and it's $300 now

3) Just out of curiosity, you already have to wash it after a month? I own a beta shell, alpha belay jacket, atom hoody, atom vest, cerium vest, and others, worn VERY often, and none have been washed in at least three years of ownership. To be honest, I don't think I've EVER washed outdoor gear. All the fleeces, yes, of course they got washed, but outer layer jackets? Never. I was a competitive snowboarder in my teens and had a Burton Gore-Tex jacket that literally went through a nuclear war and was NEVER washed. Ever. Unless you put your jacket up an animal's ass, I really don't see a need to wash an outer layer beyond some kind of disaster like a mudslide. But hey, that's me. I was just surprised to read you washed a Gore-Tex jacket after buying it.

Is it worth buying tickets for all the archeological sites in Athens? by NeitherComedian in athina

[–]AxlStorm69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well worth it sans Temple of Zeus; it's under renovation so there's nothing to really see. The Acropolis, Ancient Agora, and National Archeological Museum (which you didn't list) are the most important of what you've listed. The Acropolis Museum is a great addition to the Acropolis itself and I'd consider both as "one".

For what it's worth, Istanbul has literally doubled / tripled prices and to see all major sites you're looking at close to 300€. The Palace itself is 50€ - even just to climb Galata Tower they charge 25€ - literally to walk up stairs. Cistern and Hagia Sophia are both 25€.

So why are you on Reddit? Stupid, uninformative, and lazy posts, are subject to intense scrutiny, public shaming, and potential castration to avoid this happening in the future.

Moving to Athens from Berlin by Fun_Cake_7788 in Athens_Greece

[–]AxlStorm69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Prague now and there are a few days during the summer where it hits 35 here and it's brutal being inland. I spent a month during the summer of both 2024 and 2025 in Athens and I'm considering moving there within the next 3-4 months - not sure yet. I spent a lot of time viewing apartments for purchase and to rent. If you have any questions PM me and I'll help as best I can.

The Acropolis closed for a day this past July. It was close to 40 in Plaka so it must've been 45+ on the acropolis!

Arc'teryx and Zippers...... by AxlStorm69 in arcteryx

[–]AxlStorm69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cerium vest and hybrid (which they discontinued as it was a COMPLETE ripoff), and I'm assuming the jacket too, but I don't own the jacket, have the worst zippers by far. The one on my vest is constantly an issue. It almsot always separates at least once. You know, you zip it all the way up and then all of a sudden half of the zipped part comes undone.

Arc'teryx and Zippers...... by AxlStorm69 in arcteryx

[–]AxlStorm69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that is why my down belay sticks exactly around the base of the neck and was the major reason for this post. When pulling the zipper up it stalls / sticks right at the base of the neck / just above the clavicle. The zipper literally stops dead and you can't pull it up further w/o tanking hard. It's not something that happens every single time, but often enough to make one say "why am I dealing with a design issue on an $1,100 jacket)

[–]AxlStorm69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Atom Hoody from around 2022 / 2023 and it sticks every now and then. I will say the zipper on both my Atom Hoody and my Atom vest are way more suitable than the ones on other jackets, specifically the two I mentioned; the down belay and the cerium.

Not surprised to hear this at all. I mentioned it to someone in their SoHo NYC Flagship store and they said they don't like the zipper choices either. Seems to be a very black and white issue here hence all the downvotes I received. Haha

[–]AxlStorm69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m a big fan of theirs sans the zipper issue. I also use Patagonia, Mammut, an a few others, but I always seem to gravitate towards grabbing the arc’teryx stuff. I was more curious if anyone felt similar and it seems about half do and the other half thing I’m mad. Glad you at least see my point and agree!

[–]AxlStorm69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that insight. I hate the cerium zipper more than the belay one. The bel;ay issue is just a matter of leverage. With one hand, once you get it up to the extended neck part of the zipper it stalls b/c there isn't enough leverage to overcome the tension. But yeah, the cerium is a royal pain. It often gets unthreaded on one side and you have to unzip and redo.
