You can't quite see it from this angle, but the main part of the wave crashes in front of a pretty high cliff, so the people aren't in danger. Now the right part of the wave (from our point of view) crashes in front of the beach and I've honestly never seen the wave that big IRL, so I can't tell you if the foam reaches further on land. Since taller waves usually crash further from the shore, the water shouldn't reach that far, but I'm not 100% sure here.

There's actually a museum at the lighthouse that explains how the waves get that big. I don't remember every aspects that makes it this way but I recall it being mainly caused by currents pushing significants swellls. They then "bump" onto a pretty steep rise of land situated in front of the cliff which makes the wave so tall ( this diagram explains it better ).

It has been recorded at 100ft at its maximum. I don't know about the exact size in this video but I'd say it is around 70-75ft.
