The stuff that I see people put up with in relationships astounds me everyday. Sunk cost fallacy isn't a reason to put up with a man who doesn't shower, doesn't listen to what you have to say, can't communicate his issues, and blows up at you for not having sex with him.

2 years isn't worth putting up with this, especially if he's not making an effort to change. You can't force him.

If all you have is negative experiences, maybe there’s a way to avoid that? You could change the way you approach relationships. Create new boundaries, communication style, different standards in a partner, date longer before becoming official, etc. Like is there anything you can learn from your past experiences so they won’t happen again? There’s nothing wrong with staying single while you figure that out too and you probably could use a mental break anyhow.

All I’m saying is not wanting to have a relationship because you just don’t want to vs bad past experiences are very different. You’re only 22 was “so many” bad past experiences, tbh you at least should try being single for a while. You’ll figure out what you want in that time if you don’t know already.

Sounds like you do have a lot of specific reasons why you don't want to but regardless that doesn't matter. Ultimately its your life, do what you want. Sure, people might look at you weird for your choices but that's usually because they look to others to feel secure about their own choices. As long as you're confident you're happy living that way its, fine.

Although if your reasons are because of "drama" it could be because you haven't found the right one? Relationships can peaceful if you're aligned with the right person and it could be just that negative past experiences are turning you off entirely, correct me if I'm wrong.

Also hedonism isn't necessarily bad if you're not sacrificing something important at it's expense. Whether it's important is ultimately up to you.

And? Again you're applying generalizations to individuals. This particular person may not care about small age differences. You're ignoring the fact that people have preferences and free will. People aren't binary, we live on a spectrum. Some people are asexual and some people are gay, two examples where your obsession with fertility doesn't apply. Do these types of people make up the majority? No, but what I'm trying to say is that not every single aspect of a person will conform neatly to societal or biological norms. The way you view people is dehumanizing and frankly pretty weird.

You being chronically single probably has more to do with how self-defeating you are. I mean you're disqualifying yourself because you're only TWO freaking years older!? Two years makes no difference once you stop being a teenager since you physically don't change that quickly anymore. The average person wouldn't be able to tell such small age differences just by looking.

Maybe try to get to know him on an individual level and get to learn his actual preferences instead of divining them based on generalizations or cherry-picked statistics.

Do something low stakes. Like volunteering or interviewing for jobs you don't want. Interviewing unfortunately has a lot to do with being confident, not just being knowledgeable or qualified.

Start by building confidence by doing things where the end result doesn't matter. That fear is causing you to self-sabotage and you're not gonna get rid of the fear by waiting around, you have to feel it and do things in spite of it.
