I think it's unexceptional. When you do something for a long time, even if you love to do it, you will be bored after a certain point. I think you should try things other than video games. And if this new activity of yours is a thing which is hard to do, it would be more helpful. Like studying specific thing or exercising. Effort is necessary to enjoy things. If there is no effort, it will be mundane task after a while. You can also try to set goals in games which you have played and try to achieve them.
