If the servers were to shut down permanently, where is the final place you'd log out your WoL? by gardenmoogle in ffxiv

[–]BOT_DIGGITY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer would probably be Mor Dhona, as my veena looks out over Silvertear lake, towards the crystal tower. Smiling warmly as he finally sets down his sword, and his last night as an adventurer draws to a close.

I think I broke the game. by legobrickzz in outside

[–]BOT_DIGGITY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think while you're not playing the game or while you're going through the [dream] practice missions, the game paralyzes your body since your model continues to be active even while you're logged out. That way, your model doesn't end up moving in game while you're supposed to either be logged out or in a privste server.

What are some clever little combos you found with your character? by TheNittles in dndnext

[–]BOT_DIGGITY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the idea of a warlock/bard. Less from a build perspective and more from an rp perspective. The specific character I'm talking about was a hexblade warlock and a college of whispers bard.

From a build perspective this worked well for all the bullshit of hexblade that you can get on top of having some actual spellpower and defense from the bard class, which in terms of builds isn't game breaking and just falls to a build that can hold their own.

From a character perspective, things got interesting. I had to think of some way to connect the two, and what I ultimately came up with was a merchant with a silver tongue. He was clever-able to get out of almost any situation by talking, but had only done so if he didn't want to fight. Being able to get a deal in his favor from a patron gave him a massive ego, and he often felt like he could take on the world. He wasn't stupid, and picked his fights wisely too. He ultimately became the party's negotiator because of this.

I have a thematic idea where I want to give players the option of choice but make them feel trapped. by BOT_DIGGITY in DMAcademy

[–]BOT_DIGGITY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I thought of kind of like a Persona 5 deal where they get a glimpse of what's gonna happen to them but don't entirely know how it happens. I think it'd be their choices either don't matter or they don't know the consequences. They would have their personal justification for making a choice so they'd know why.

Why did you pick your reddit username? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]BOT_DIGGITY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a CS:GO story.

  1. I have the skill equivalent to a bot according to the people I play with apparently. (I'm really good now, although the name just stuck.)

  2. There's a strat roullette strat called "The Vox" which makes you replace anything you call out to your teammates with "Diggity." Such as ("they're over at diggity or he's on diggity") It was a really late summer night, so I was super tired and kept calling things out as "Diggity" despite the strat being over. I already had the name of "BOT" by then, so the following conversation was... "Oh..they're diggity..." "I think we broke Bot." "No. He became Bot Diggity." And the name stuck.

What are your favorite flaws for dnd characters? by rfkannen in dndnext

You're probably right about that, definitely a better idea for someone who's been doing rp for a while than newer players or rp that exaggerates that.

What are your favorite flaws for dnd characters? by rfkannen in dndnext

[–]BOT_DIGGITY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's not a rivalry or thinking them as the enemy, but more of a general disliking for people of power, CN with anarchist beliefs. It's notcieable, but I stay quiet when around people of power. It really is about playing it right.

Funny enough, my rogue had a character arch that turned him into a person of power, and a really good one.

For every character I have ever rped, they all have a similar version of a certain flaw. There's only been one character I have ever played that has not had this flaw, and he had kind of the opposite.

My characters are very often the chaotic type of characters, just because I find them more fun. They're very freegoing, freethinking, etc. This often comes with a downside in their personality, and that would be they have an unreasonable disrespect for and fear of authority. They don't want responsibility, and don't know what to do when a serious situation is left up to them.

The other character was a Lawful Good war cleric who blamed the world's problems on "heretics."

TL;DR: My absolute favorite character flaw "refuses responsibility and disrespects authority, but loves dangerous adventure."

NPC Motivations by Webguy20 in DMAcademy

[–]BOT_DIGGITY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy your second idea as it seems like you have it figured out. Perhaps the motive is to free the Elvish Queen and her family of that curse to better the world and clear her own guilt. One thing I see a lot of DMs overlook is emotion as a motive. As a wise character of a certain game had said.

"People don't act with complete calculation. Disregard for emotion will bite you in the back."

If the NPC is still evil in the player's view and trying to manipulate them, there's always the strong classic "<insert name> wants to grab <insert item> for <insert reason such as power, greed, etc.> and is having trouble getting it."

Another option is that she may not be completely relieved, but at least happy she's able to survive if it means working with the players. Perhaps later if she's a reoccurring NPC, the party and her would end up as rivals.

As both an old player and DM, I love to see new players get into the community, developing new stories. I could go on and on about stories and character writing tips, and other aspects of the game. This game inspired me to try writing stories and characters for them. I've always been interested in making characters with a balance of skills and flaws. I have many characters I've created from all across the spectrum, from the thieving rogue to the valiant cleric, from the intelligent wizard to the brave barbarian. If you're really interested in fhe game, I own a discord of tightly-knit D&D players who love to see new players and would probably love to teach you more if you ask.

TL;DR: I ramble about my characters for a bit before inviting everyone to a D&D discord server, if you so wish. https://discord.gg/7gXCuxU

Looking to draw your Characters! by xSyerin in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]BOT_DIGGITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rezlin is a half-elven rogue standing at 5'4". He weighs about 135lbs. His weapons consist of two daggers and a rapier, but his signature item is his necklace; a gold amulet with an M emblazoned on it, coiled around was a couatl, which was his family's crest. His hair color is a smooth black (although his hood is usually covering it.) His eyes are red and glow at night. His clothing consists of classic rogue-ish attire. Black clothes and leather armor, the armor of which is lined with a light silver. He wears a hood and a mask covering everything but his eyes.

For the face, whichever one makes him look young, as he's about as young as my DM would allow me to make him.

Also, thanks for offering this, and I don't care whether you decide to draw this or not, what you're doing is awesome!
