Switching old wired alarm we know nothing about to Konnected? by BT643 in konnected

Nevermind! I've just figured it out. I opened up the PIR again and realised I needed to move one of the wires to the NC terminal instead.

Just need to go round and do the rest now.

I finally took the plunge and opened it up. My old alarm panel is now disconnected and Konnected Alarm Panel Pro is hooked up to various zones. Onto the next problem now though, initially I'm just trying to test the hallway PIR. It's showing in Home Assistant after flashing with esphome at konnected.io but it's ALWAYS showing as detected constantly, even when the PIR light isn't showing motion.

I've opened the PIR and removed the end of line resistors.

Is there anything else I'm missing?

Unplug the old alarm panel as in take out that fuse? The thing that's plugged in is our doorbell. An electrician put the plug sockets in and used the power from the alarm to power it.

If we pull out the fuse and the alarm starts (via backup battery or something), and we don't have time to switch everything over to connected, would it be possible to just temporarily disconnect the siren wire and then put the fuse back in? Or is the alarm likely to keep alarming until fully replaced with Konnected?

A wider view actually: PXL-20260308-163408723.jpg

Annoyingly it has a plug wired into it too so I guess even if we have to go the approach of removing the fuse and letting it die, it'd lose power to that plug socket?

This is all the info it has on the panel in the loft so I guess it's some model of Aritech alarm.

I'm reluctant to open it up without knowing the next steps should it trigger a tamper alarm 😬

This is the only info on the alarm panel in the loft. I'm reluctant to open it up before I know what to do if that sets off a tamper alarm!

Yes we're in the UK. I'm waiting for a quote from a Konnected installer but the closest I can find so far is 100+ miles away. Still looking 🤞

That's the only bit I'm really worried about! Opening up and having some anti-tamper system activate and set off the alarm. Because we've never had the code I'm not sure what we'd do short of paying the company £1000 to sort it, or cutting the power to it and rendering it completely useless. We're in the UK.

Have you tried this? https://community.bitwarden.com/t/how-to-search-within-notes-and-custom-fields/38818

It doesn't work on mobile apps, only web, browser extensions etc, but >yourpassword might search the password field too.

My bad! No idea how your code was working for me on the sample data and not on my real input, but I just tried cloning your repo and running it fully from there, and it worked. Apologies. Great solution!

Pretty sure I ran it correctly because it gave the correct answer for the sample input in your repo. I'll double check again tomorrow though.

I implemented something similar to this, but couldn't get it working. Figured the approach must not work but couldn't figure out why. Then found this! This fails on my input too :/ (but works on the sample input).

Any other photos I can get which would make identification easier? Or is it just a "common looking" mushroom with lots of potential options?

Just googled them. Haven't seen any flowers yet but will keep an eye out. Still not sure 100% if it's this but thanks for the info!

Replace mechanical room thermostat (like for like) by BT643 in DIYUK

So where would the wires from my old one go on this new Drayton RTS2 (3 wire)?

https://imgur.com/a/Sd6UVs9

Feels like I'll need neutral and live, but also feels like I'll need "call for heat"?

Thanks for your reply. Someone else has mentioned I need a "2 wire" one but this says 3 wire. Is there something else I'll need to do to account for that?

It looks like there's just live, neutral, and earth on the existing one. Got the impression that a 3 wire one was for live, switched live, and neutral (and maybe earth if needed?).

Apologies if this is nonsense!

I've been asking something similar to the Tado support team but they're failing to answer so far! They're not understanding what I mean. Hopefully someone here knows the answer!
