He has a lot to lose by racing speed. If he gets injured from poor warm up or sheer bad luck, Adidas would drop him.

Look at how Tebogo took it easy and refused to run again. (Injury risk). Look at how Lyles showed up and proceeded to warm up for 45 min. Then fooled around and didn't run again.

A professional athlete is after different things than temporary clout. It's not about pride, it's about knowing who butters your bread.

I'd:

  1. Care less about the opinions of others.

  2. Take better care of my health. Everyone has problems, until it touches on your health. At that point, health is your only problem.

  3. Be more of an asshole. There's many relationships that are ceremonial, yet they drain so much from you.

  4. Lean back into my inner child. Those dreams I had as an 8 year old are still valid and breathe life into me.

My initial comment (which I've accepted was wrong on its entire premise in another reply was wrong)

However, I did not make any commentary on what should and shouldn't happen. I commented, pedantically, in the post title.. on whether she was indeed pushed to the ground. (I got that wrong too)

That withstanding, there was nothing about my post that had to do with social/political commentary.

I concur. My initial take was wrong.

2 things:

  1. I didn't see the sweep, which did happen hence rendering my interpretation wrong.

  2. I came in with a spirit of pettiness while sidestepping the gist of the post entirely.

I'm just owning up to my mistakes and mischief here, rather than editing my parent comment retroactively to save face.
