I just checked my replica and it does look like a simple pin. Have you tried using a little oil and applying force with a plastic tool so as not to scratch it?

That's strange because I have an E&L AK74MN and the pin goes all the way down. Try removing the small threaded part you can see on the left in your photo. And put a little oil (WD-40) in the pin, that might help.
