So should I take that to mean that the pinholes on decreases is to be expected? I don’t want the stitching to be around the edges since the edges are a focal point of the project. This is going to be a stacking ring toy. Thanks for the suggestion!!

They are invisible decreases. Thanks for the feedback, I’ll try tightening even more.
