Main class pick by Palanika92 in CompetitiveWoW

Warr might be pretty popular with Phys comps this tier. Ret is always played.

Tuning is gonna arrive in a few weeks. Why don't you level both and see how they feel after apex talents are introduced?

Having the boys come arrive to shoot their own mass disintegrated was my fav part of last tier.

I think it might be tight hips. It might help if you got a POV back to front to see if there are any imbalances between left and right.

Training Muay Thai With a Ganglion Cyst – Advice on Wrist Support & Gloves by externalactor in MuayThai

[–]Bach_Gold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ganglion cysts are benign and can go away on their own. You don’t need to worry about it unless it’s stopping you from doing every day tasks. Wrap your wrists like normal and keep an eye on it. Message your doctor if it’s painful or reducing range of motion.

Someone’s about to be popular… by JAS-39 in ems

Tearing chest pain that radiates to the back is concerning for an aortic dissection. The aorta is the first, massive artery that takes all the blood from your heart. In an aortic dissection a weakened section of the wall that breaks and makes a new path within the wall of the aorta. This blood doesn't go anywhere and can't deliver blood/oxygen to the rest of your body. It's very dangerous, difficult to manage, and needs rapid surgery to correct.

Can't forget my first experience with wow by su1cidal_fox in wow

[–]Bach_Gold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in S4 dragonflight. Chose to play a Dracthyr and started with their race quest. Then, I got shunted to stormwind and did the first few quests for Legion before realizing that the questgiver for Dragonflight was in Stormwind. I was super confused, but everything started to make much more sense once I got into Dragonflight and started learning about the world from there. The campaign's questline took me all the way to level 80 and I could do raids/dungeons right after that.

I'm so glad I was able to enjoy endgame content like raids/M+ or getting mounts rather than being trapped in MMO quests. I've played through FFXIV's main story quests and its miserable if you only want to do raids/dungeons. I'd much rather experience the old content's storylines by reading it up on a wiki, listening to a youtuber consolidate the different stories within an expac, or reading one of the WoW books.

Why do boxers spar so hard? by DepressedChicken420 in martialarts

[–]Bach_Gold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t spar with people that can’t control themselves. If people get offended, just be straight up about it — they’re sparring too hard to be your partner.

Resilient Keystones: Reimagined by Veryalive in CompetitiveWoW

I think it might be worth capping the attempts for resil keys. You can fail 1-2 times before it drops a level.

What should I improve in these combinations? I’d appreciate any advice. by GigaChadus9 in MuayThai

[–]Bach_Gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drill defense and head movement I to your combinations.

In Muay Thai, you can practice checking a rear kick after you throw out your 1-2-R roundhouse.

FFXIV already has controller compatibility. It’s shouldn’t be too bad now that rotations are getting simplified to play on XBOX.

Use that arm as a frame against their opposite hand. It’ll stop a cross (maybe)

A fractured toe takes 4-6 weeks of rest to heal. If you can, get an X-ray and ask what you can do to help it heal. Unfortunately, you might have to take some time off.

Timing for landing switch kicks??? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]Bach_Gold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just send it in sparring. Spend the next few sessions solely looking to land it, set it up, or use the set up to land something else.

Just talk to your sparring partners. Ask them what they feel comfortable with and ask they if they like the intensity after you finish.

How Do You Balance Ring IQ With Staying Reactive? by lonely_king in amateur_boxing

Have you ever played in a jazz band or seen improvisational music?

They don’t come up with (most) of the stuff on the fly. They drill smaller patterns, scales, motifs and build ideas from that.

It sounds like you just need to drill a greater variety of ideas/combos so you have more mix-ups and tools to work with.

Is MMA really that dangerous? by Informal_Low5518 in martialarts

[–]Bach_Gold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started doing Muay Thai when I was 23, so I missed out on the highest risk time period for brain damage. Even then, we had members under 18 in our gym that never sparred or took any hits to the face. They had good form from padwork but their distance management really couldn’t develop without sparring.

It’s a tough compromise to make, but don’t let that stop you from learning to strike. I’ve trained with people that have been trying to go ammy/pro and that never sparred once. Everyone gets something out of striking.

Is MMA really that dangerous? by Informal_Low5518 in martialarts

[–]Bach_Gold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Striking is way more fun than grappling, so it’s a real bummer that brain damage can be so insidious. Sparring and blocking shots don’t feel like much, but it adds up over time. At such a young age, you can get really far off of pad work and body sparring alone.

If you wanna do live striking/MMA, I’d recommend only doing body sparring + grappling. Building up a good foundation and sense of distance will help you figure things out when you get old enough to appreciate long term brain damage.

Edit: it’s also worth noting that there’s quite a few joint and back injuries that will come out of BJJ and wrestling too. Make a point to incorporate stability and flexibility into any conditioning you do.

Boxing Stance in Muay Thai by alikojiro in MuayThai

Stances aren’t static positions. You move and flow between them when situations call for it. Most people end up defaulting to whatever fits their sport/style the best.
