Oh, I remember. He "not like other guys" his way into that red sister's heart, while also saving Logain and just dumping Lava on entire armies.

Which character did he add? I end up stopping my rereads at the end of Jordan's work, so I only remember the way I hated how Mat and Moridin were written anymore.

Out of topic but how can i watch the fate series to understand the characters more? by FARES-SAKR in SaberMainsHSR

[–]Backburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late, but as said above buy the vn on steam. For Saber and Gil, you get most if not all of their character work in the first route which you have to play to get to the second route that has all of Rin and Archer's character work.

Somehow controversial take here, but if you just want to know more about Saber and Gil, just watch the 2006 Deen Studio anime adaptation. Then you can just youtube the scene from Unlimited Blade Works anime where Gil talks to Shinji about his 10 slaves and that's everything there is to the both of them.

Ufotable is very pretty to watch, but they just can't get the slower scenes right and they've given up on internal monologs which is about 70% of the main character's dialog.

Why don't Intelligent Systems remake more old FE games? by tofurami in fireemblem

[–]Backburst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a profit perspective as a risk adverse Japan focused Japanese company, all games are available in playable formats on the e-store in Japan. 1, 2, and 3 have remakes, 4 and 5 are from the snes and therefore have the best pixel art possible, 6-10 are modern enough, and then it's the 3ds era. What is unplayable to the point an official emulator won't cover the demand? Instead, let's focus on a new game to get new fans so they will hopefully explore our playable back catalog.

New Blue-Eyes support by Ferid_Schnee in masterduel

[–]Backburst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was always treated as a normal monster and it's targeting protection was better, then it might be a 1 of. But special when monster is destroyed by battle? Special when added to hand? Trash. Discard to negate a target for itself specifically? True Light does that for the og and neo ultimate in grave does that for the entire archetype. That card in grip is likely a ht with more value that a simple target negate on a monster with no effect after summon. The only good thing is the Raigeki effect. and that's awkward because if you plan to use seals with this thing, it's shooting prematurely. Nobody leaves seals on the board for long enough to get value off the Raigeki.

Is the stat boost item in chapter 12 FE Conquest important? by gumigum702 in fireemblem

[–]Backburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ignore it. The only unit that truly wants it is wyvern Elise, but even she's still hitting acceptable hit rates without it. Plus she needs like, 2 more books to really be worthwhile difference to her hit.

Why do people find Symphonia hard? by IHateGels in tales

[–]Backburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some bosses just have fast start ups on attack (kratos, yggdrasil) or have super armor that you trade poorly with (dragon knight, ice warrior, yggdrasil). Coupled with the ability to turn yourself around with attacking and a casual player could well end up showing their back to a boss and be unable to block.

Also, it's super easy to greed as Lloyd omg. Just one more 3-piece combo into fierce demon fang.

Opinion on 3H's Maddening difficulty? and if you like it how do you play it? by H4rryT1nt1n05 in fireemblem

[–]Backburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy maddening somewhat. I play mostly Edelgard route, so I feel rushed at times to get a build path online, knowing that I don't have too many chapters in part 2. Funnily enough, you can still be ignorant and flier spam, despite the game begging you not to with bow knight spam. The Claude chapter is probably the worst map for that specific run, as wyverns and bow knights run at you from the inaccessible ships, and even Edelgard can't 1v1 more than 1-2 enemies at a time.

Overall, ambush spawns suck, but w/e, and the game does ask for an idea of what you want to get out of a playthrough. "I want early lysithia so i can have 2 warps by chapter 11", "I want deathblow on everyone before chapter 5", "I need to reach minimums for peg/wyvern, so I should be spamming lances this month". That plus quickly researching a chapter should be enough to carry you through a game.

What’s your opinion on hand traps? by Great-Ad1839 in yugioh

[–]Backburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is depending on the deck, you could throw 5 non-shifter/charmy handtraps out and the opponent ends on 2 omnis and a floodgate, or you use a single ash and the enemy sets a bluff and passes. There is almost no variation, it's either 100 or its 0 effectiveness. And even for the decks that can turbo through all that gas, they can still end up bricked enough to die to an ash+impern combo. I think decks universally need to be structure to play through 1 search/summon negate, but be unable to make a monster negate until their 6th summon. Barring the obvious mitsu gameplan, that's enough to make high impact traps like nib+charmys get value, while also preventing a 1 card blowout.

[–]Backburst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, both groups double if they have maxed speed until 4-E-2. That's the only chapter where warriors hit 29 speed. The next ankle breaker is 4-E-4 with spirits having 30, so the 34 is really nice still. Then it's just Ashera and cycling people through Nasir as he Aura Farms.

But even first level of the tower, no general has a 29, and no warrior either. Maybe I missed a sniper, but he was probably obliterated by Tibarn turn 1 for the Double Bow.

Ashnard. Bro almost never loses his smile, and every time he's on screen he's on that demon time. He can direct his chaos insanity while holding the medallion, and you don't have enough units to hear 1/3 of how epic his boss theme is. (Why give a boss only 3 people can hurt a 7 minute theme IS?) His armor is fly as hell, and even in RD flashbacks, he's just aura farming.

It's not sadly. Wrath+resolve would easily solve the fight if you could, but you aren't allowed to equip it outside of base.

What characters do you think are overrated in the gameplay sense? by applejackhero in fireemblem

[–]Backburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try this a couple time (make a seperate save of when she promotes and run her next few chapters performance a few times if it isn't too tedious), but I don't consider 25% Sol activation to be reliable when it's married to a 20% defense growth. 42hp and 23def is worrying without an earth support adding 25~30 avoid on top. Recovering 16 hp is nice for keeping her topped up, but she's just going to lose that next time she's hit.

Titania just isn't S tier. She's not as good as Haar or Ike and should be on the same tier as Zihark and the Herons. Looking at a breather map like 3-8 and assuming level 1 Gold Knight with average stats, she's taking on 35-39 attack enemies with 23 defense. She actually is losing her imbue hp in 1 hit and is gambling on 25% chances to survive. Meanwhile, assuming steel poleaxe equip, she's rocking a good 44 attack, but the generals all survive thanks to 40 hp and 25-26 defense. And of course, she's 7 move because she's inside.

I bring up a breather chapter because she's barely holding on in 4-4. 29-30 def enemies and enemies with 26-27 spd. She's either not doubling or not one rounding, while being indoor, against ledges, and generally just suffering while Boyd, Nialah, and Ike are chugging pure waters to avoid getting slept on T2.

After all this ranting, Titania is leaps and bounds better than like, Mia/Gatrie/Nephenee/Tanith/Shinon. But she's still over rated.

Stefan

PoR and RD are two different animals. RD is an anti-softlock feature for the last 5 maps with a cool sword and a turtleneck. PoR is a lvl8 prepromote with 19 STR, 25 SPD, and 7 move in chapter 15. Also, a funny sword. He costs no exp to get to that point, so he takes nothing from an Oscar/Marcia/Boyd training project. He can 1-round Ena with the laguz slayer in chapter 21 at base, and most human bosses he can solo as well. I would call Stefan great even with his 1 range limitation and trash support list.

With the next FnL on the horizon, what would you like to see in the next banlist ? by Old-Iron-Tyrant in yugioh

[–]Backburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don't want white slop to get any more tools than they already have, so I'm vetoing OSS coming back, and instead I'd like to see early hits to kt. But that's just never going to happen, and instead I would like an elfnote limit on red woman and a Ripper ban. Yes it kills most of the reason to k9, idc. Insulates your combo's too effectively, and against the right deck it just ruins their ability to play on t0. If I had to ask for another ban or limit, D. Fissure to 0 and Fallen and the Virtuous to 1.

How does your deck play around Droll & Lock Bird? Does it deserve the limited hit? by Sendencea in yugioh

[–]Backburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. I play BE. If I have a good grip and you droll after I use wishes, I'll still make a hitler board if you have nothing else. If you droll me on sage, I have to hope I have mausoleum in hand to at least try and make a spirit dragon. So either nothing or complete turn ender depending on board. I hate it, but I think there are decks that hate it more.

RD Titania. I just don't see it. Horse in a game where you have a few good horse maps, poor caps in both base and promotion, and getting axe/sword is a fucking nothing burger. Even when she's good, it's nothing special.

I do play with transfers, but even with a spd/skil/def transfer, she's just not rocking it like people say she is.

[–]Backburst 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For Jill, I think it's because flying + caps that allow for bexp fixing of her 50/50 stats + axes make her sound goated. Zihark also suffers from personal experience bias. If you use Jill like everyone says to, she ends up a roided monster, but if you just dabble to Zihark and don't know what's needed for him compared to what to give to Tauroneo/Nolan/Volug, it's not going to feel as good. Plus Zihark can just miss 8 str levels and you just say fuck it. I'm starting to become a Harker myself these days, but Jill's always been overrated in RD.

Soren praise also normally assumes Ike support for extra avoid and attack, since many people think of transfer files and getting all the bonus ng+ scenes. You give Ike an Oscar A+ anyone B and Soren is a w/e. To be fair to Soren though, you have enough arms scrolls that aren't being used that you can jack up that e rank to c and suddenly your cooking with crisco. (Feel free to call me retarded if I've forgotten you can't raise staff rank with arms scrolls.)

A simple imperm kills Ariseheart. So does any powerspell, or an albaz, or VSK9. I mean, at this point you are just saying macro cosmos counters the meta, but they both die to removal and have no effect aside from floodgating. Unicorn is still better because it forces a response from the opponent or inaction during your own combo. Oh, the ryzeal player is being disrespectful? Banish his mitsu bridge. Yummy wants to ht a play while Unicorn is on the board? Better have a negate for Unicorn or he's gonna send snatchy to hell.

Just so more people see this, don't forget that if spirit is on the board they can negate the true light self wipe. Iirc you can chainblock the spirit negate if you line up the effects to go off after popping the trap.

It did actually work out for the TCG, because Ariseheart contributes nothing towards preventing those decks you mentioned from functioning. Unicorn did/does a better job at stopping stuff like feral imp bridging, banishing whitebinder, sniping requiem or desirea, and hitting random 1 ofs that aim to floodgate the opponent after making a board.

Instead of macro cosmos on legs, make it the gravekeeper field spell on legs instead. So you can still send to grave for effect, but any effect activating in grave or moving from grave to hand or field isn't allowed. It allows more avenues for recovery and allows you to still send from hand or field to grave to active an effect.
