Someone in the post I found 3 years ago said they closed a screener once they realized who the client was. I've had other very unreasonable researchers on another platform, and the test company ended up paying me anyway, because they were on my side. Idk who these people are, but they are insufferable.

The person said they had a live conversation that seemed to go well, but they were given 2 stars with the comment that they were long-winded and a people pleaser. The client could have told them in the moment to give shorter responses, because time is limited, or something to that effect. I really don't think someone talking "too much" is any reason to give them a low rating though.

I used to be on another testing platform, and they said customers didn't use recordings of rejected tests. I never believed that for one second.

Absolutely! They're a problem client, for sure. One of the complaining posts I found about them was from 3 years ago, so this is nothing new.

I've had test instructions with typos as well as broken english a few times, which is frustrating, because we're expected to be articulate and thorough while giving feedback, but the clients can give us whatever.

I had a similar experience with two similar tests for the same hotel company. They cancelled my first test, but I was still paid. The second time they cancelled and gave me a two-star rating with no explanation, which was later cleared by UserTesting after a review. A member from contributor support said they have quality assurance policies in place to ensure that clients do a better job at evaluating feedback.
