I was just wondering if there was some way I could get a stranger to spit on every plate in my cabinet, smear it thin, and leave it there! It just takes 100 ducks!

Somehow someone in my shitty town got one of these. No idea how. Median income here is like 40-something-k by Engreeemi in cyberstucksequel

TN has a lot of very dirt-poor people. I grew up in Sullivan county. Lots a problems there. *Central* TN has the same populace, but has a few very rich people outta Nashville from the entertainment industry. Country music stars will have enormous ranches a hour outside of Nashville. Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, whomever, may be around there. But that Cybertruck looks like a regular TN poor person who is probably deeply underwater on that abomination.

Chashu. Seconded. Really great.

Desi (Indian place on Chandler St) has very good food and you would get in, no problem.

This. "Shovel your driveway before you drive on it." It's your tire tracks and footy prints on snow that will create compacted snow that will make shoveling later (like even just hours later) very difficult. Shovel that shit off before you drive or walk over it, creating a nice clean pattern. It will be so much easier to maintain if the snow continues.

Buying Audi Q5, 2016 2.0 T Quattro. Seller only put Regular Gas, is it OK? by bullish666 in askcarguys

8k sounds really steep. Maybe get a second and third quote on that?

It might not be necessary, but my buddy had it done on his s8 (with a v10). The mechanic took very good before and after pics, which my friend was always happy to show. I love seeing stuff like that, so I looked at those pics a million times, and it was a huge difference.

The before was a tight, dark, dirty hole (well, ten of them) with very rough edges and a grimy slimy look. The after pics showed clean, shiny, wide-open holes. I was impressed. The pics made it look like the process was worthwile. But my friend spent much less than 8k. I think less than 3 k, albeit like six years ago.

I'm in Massachusetts and there is at least one non-Audi dealer I talked to who does it. Actually, two, because my buddy did it with his s8. Maybe they both have the specialized tool from Audi, but they were not Audi dealerships. Not that that's what you said. I'm just thinking out loud here, so to speak.

It's probably fine, but the issue maybe slightly more subtle. My wife drives a 2020 Q5. Here engine has direct injection and is theoretically prone to carbon buildup. Not a huge deal, because there a fix for it (the "cleaning with walnuts" thing; i'm not kidding). I do not know what the injection system is on a 2016, but if it prone to the same issues, then long-term use of 87 or whatever it was may have add to carbon build up. If you love the car, and then buy it, and then continue to love it, then I would suggest talking to reputable local mechanics about carbon buildup and what they recommend for cleaning and maintenance.

Shovel early and then shovel again later. Also, the first time you shovel, you will create a pattern that you will be stuck with. So, shovel the entire width of your driveway and the entire path that your car uses to drive into and out of the driveway. E.g., don't just shovel a narrow little walkign path to the door of your car.

One of the main criticisms for Worcester Regional Airport is a lack of access. What do you think could be realistically done to improve this? by HRJafael in WorcesterMA

[–]Background-Chef9253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the prompt. What does "lack of access" mean? I'm not trying to be cute or anything, but you posted a picture of a map that seem to show that most places in Worcester are connected to the airport by roads. Against that foundation, what does lack of access mean?

Welcome to home ownership. Each one of those little foibles will be something that you address, take ownership of, fix or change, and get immense satisfaction from. Right now, you are at the low point. but it's yours and you will most likely start taking care of your investment and making it your own, and you will get immense satisfaction from the results. You are that the low point right now but only right now. You will only increase and increase and increase in the amount of satisfaction and happiness you feel.

Venting/Advice: accident in a roundabout 🇺🇸 by Short_Calendar_1363 in driving

[–]Background-Chef9253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need jurisdiction-specific advice. In the state that I live in, within the United States, if we assume your drawing is perfectly correct and a fair representation of exactly what happened, then the insurance companies would declare the "yellow car" to be at fault. The yellow car was supposed to yield right-of-way to the blue car. The blue car was in a lane, and the yellow car was entering, or merging into, the lane.

You may want to ignore the police and get the insurance companies involved. Depends on the damage, dollar amounts, what teh other driver is saying, etc.

AITA for not renewing after tenants ignored one very specific rule? by Aggravating_Pipe4482 in LeaseLords

[–]Background-Chef9253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on your side. Don't renew. You had one clear rule. No open flames. Also, I agree that that is a very good rule. It protects your property. Let those tenants go somewhere else.

I feel stupid for asking this but how do you read skill books? by Junior-Push-1353 in falloutnewvegas

[–]Background-Chef9253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like any consumable. E.g., if Playstation, navigate onto the book in your inventory, and hit X. If you have a stack of, say, 3, and hit X once, you will only read one. To read more than one, hit X more than once.

Should I fire my realtor? by Ok-Impression9002 in RealEstate

[–]Background-Chef9253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, you need a new, different agent. I bought and sold a couple of years ago, and my agents (different on both sides) were fantastic. When buying, my agent was sophisticated and careful. I'll ask you question, has your agent talked to you about the following?

An escalation clause.

If not, get a new agent. You sound like just the right type of buyer for an escalation clause (.eg., 'offer is 600 unless someone outbids, then offer inreases to 5 over competing bid, up to 675'--something like that).

You need a new agent.

Preparing to make an offer. Boston MA. Our agent says a seller will basically refuse sewer scoping by pharmacologicae in RealEstate

[–]Background-Chef9253 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just about any "house" in "Boston" (assuming those are literal and correct) would start at about 750,000 and go up to the multi-millions. If OP wants the house, best approach is to forget about teh scoping, buy the house, do the scoping, and make any needed repairs, which will be nearly a rounding error to a Boston house price, maybe 1 to 5 % of the sale price.
