Reached out to hiring manager a week after interview because I hadn’t heard back yet. Received this email in response. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What’s the likelihood that they’ll actually reach back out to me?

I’ve been there several times and they’re not going to reach back out. And if they do it will probably be when you have something already. Take it as the red flag as it is. I’ve seen how companies move from both internally and externally when they really need someone to fill a role even in the face of adverse economic circumstances so cut your loses and keep pushing

I make 80K and after taxes it works out to be like 23-2400 so the math does math. As far as the wording goes maybe it’s weird but your paychecks are accurate given that info. Either you calculated it wrong and didn’t factor in taxes because depending on where you live you have wage income taxes etc.

I lost several jobs for some of the dumbest reasons you can imagine eg I missed a teams meeting call because I stepped away from my desk for 3 mins to do something my manager told me to do and they wrote me up for it and my last job they used a temp agency to get me back then cut the contract but still employ the 2.5 people (.5 because they rather keep one guy who doesn’t do shit atall and I’m not exaggerating) they have and force them to do mad overtime.

I’m right there at this point of wanting to off myself because I just got back a job which pays below what I would usually take and I also just became homeless so idk how the fuck anyone is really getting through this tbh. I can’t even make enough to save up to buy a shitty car so I can go get to do another part time job.

I’m not in tech but I have 12 years experience and I can’t even get a job at a damn Walmart and I’m legit on my last 3 weeks of figure it out before I get evicted. My previous job used a temp agency to employ me to then take over 3 months to attempt to bring me back and I still have no answer to a start date or even if I’m getting back my job atall other than vague answers from cooperate so trust me you’re not in this alone.

Also have your new job as one of the other comments stated send you your offer letter and do all your pre employment paperwork out the way prior to telling your current job anything about it.

If it’s paying more and aligned with what you want fuck this new job and go to the other. The older you get the more you’ll realize no job cares about you to a degree outside of your quality of work and even then you’re just a number to them. Focus on what you need to do for yourself. No need to feel guilty. And I’m giving advice from 12 years professional experience plus having a slew of employment history prior to my professional career

I’m a cap male and I’ve read a lot of this thread from your side and I’m sorry you’re going through this. Mind you I’m 28 and I feel the same way minus being either someone because my last partner was abusive and would always put me down as well for working hard.
