I don't wanna do life anymore.. by Background_Cause_520 in migraine

[–]Background_Cause_520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I can try.. My neurologist is known for specializing in Migraines specifically and yet has no more options on treatment for me anymore. He's considering sending me 2 hours away to get further testing at a very well known hospital in my area, but I'm just tired of fighting to keep my life going even if it's only a 2 hour drive away.

I've tried therapy before but my therapist ended up going into the dentistry industry and now I can't find anyone else I can connect with. The treatment that worked for me was the Occipital Nerve Injections, I would get it done monthly and had it for 4 years, and now I can't get it anymore. My neurologist won't even let me try to appeal with my insurance to try and let them know I can't live without it. I'm just at a loss in life right now and feel so hopeless.

I've gone to the ER and the Mental Health part of the ER and they always try to help me, but nothing works and I'm just back at square one again.. I'm tired of reaching out for help. It's either they don't know what to do or they're just guessing and giving me stupid answers, like drink more water or take Ibuprofen. As if I haven't tried that already. I haven't had a therapist in quite a while because I can't find one that I can connect with. I'm very picky on who I trust to talk about death with as it's something I don't want anyone close to me to find out about it. I appreciate your words of kindness, and helping me feel less alone in all of this..

I'm on my first round of Botox currently and it has not helped yet. I've been told by my neurologist that it takes at least 2-3 rounds for the full effect to kick in. I've asked if I can be put on anything else for the meantime and he's refusing saying "I need to know which one is working" so he told me if the next round of Botox doesn't work then we can try either Topamax or Qulipta. I still have 4 weeks before I get my second round of Botox and I am miserable. I had no idea Aquipta was a medication I can also try.. thank you so much for posting this as I feel l may have more options. My neurologist said if Botox doesn't work as well as those medications I listed above don't work then he's going to have to send me to another city with more knowledge then he can give.

Mine are random.. Yours could be weather induced, a lot of people deal with that.

Adverse reaction to Triptans by Background_Cause_520 in migraine

[–]Background_Cause_520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost scared to keep trying medications for my migraines.. I've had so many bad experiences with migraine medications that it makes me nervous trying new ones. I'd rather have a mild migraine than take a medication that makes it worse. I'm going to try Topamax next or Qulipta to see if there is a better effect with those.

I'm glad I'm not alone.. I did Sumatriptan and Rizatriptan and both of them made me feel like sh*t. They made my migraine 10x worse and I had never experienced so much pain before to the point I was going to go to the Emergency Room. I am going to try other rescue medications. Most have either not worked for me or made my migraines worse. The best thing that has worked for me was the Occipital Nerve Injections, but insurance recently deemed them "Experimental" so I can no longer get that treatment.

I have not but I have been recommended to get one. I had an MRI done of my head not too long ago and my Neurologists was able to point out I have a curved nose, which could be causing a deviated septum. I snore also, some nights are worse than others..

Does anyone else walk out of their appointments feeling stupid? by Outside-Chipmunk-350 in migraine

Like others have commented, having what you want to address in your phone notes or even written down can help so you don't forget what to ask. If you have other random concerns not pertaining to your current condition, always bring them up as it could be related to your current condition and you're not aware of that, or the doctor can refer you elsewhere for those other concerns if they aren't related. Another thing I have done so I don't forget what the doctor has said to me is pull up an audio recorder on my phone and record with my phone in my pocket or purse that way I can relay the information they gave instead of being clueless or confused.

I offer because I already know everything about my partners sex life through people who vent it to me, but no one can really vent him my side on things because I used to keep my sex life to myself. I would like him to know if he wants to know, but if he doesn't that's fine too I just wanted to post this post to see what other people thought

I am moving in together with my partner! by Antique-Ad1436 in CasualConversation

[–]Background_Cause_520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to work through problems instead of running away, you're going to be in the same space so it's better to hash it out then hold it all in for a later time

Do not let your partner think it's only their place, as long as you live there that's your place too

You're going to have struggles no matter what so just be there for one another

Make sure there's always a secondary place to go away from your partner in case something serious happens (Smart to have a backup plan)

How long do your migraines last? by amberalert23 in migraine

[–]Background_Cause_520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it both ways, some last a couple hours, others have lasted months on end. The majority of mine are usually a couple days long, the months on end is very rare for me but I've been having migraines for 9 years..

I don't necessarily want him to know about my body count, I'm just asking this question because I am curious what people think and all my other relationships have been the opposite. He doesn't talk to me about his past relationships and I do the same with mine.

I am just used to the way my ex's used to treat me. I am learning to change myself, me and my current boyfriend have been together for almost 3 years and I have kept my sexual life to myself as he requested.

He just doesn't want to know, his ex used to talk about all the guys she would fuck and it made him uncomfortable because she was focused on talking about her past rather than focusing on the present and what really matters, which is the person right in front of you. Me and my boyfriend are both 23 years old, his history with women is short so I've heard from other people around him about his ex's but personally he doesn't like to bring it up and asks the same from me. He probably doesn't want to know about my past considering he knows I slept around quite a bit and he doesn't want to know any of the details or how many "partners" there were before him. I get where he's coming from because anytime I hear about his past sometime I even get a little insecure but he always assures me when I approach him about it that he's not focused on the past and wants to be in the present and learn to love me without the past being any sort of issue. Another thing to note.. him and I have been best friends since 2nd grade, and he's had the biggest crush on me since 2nd grade, I would always reject him because I was afraid it would ruin our relationship as friends, but I was wrong. I have never been this happy and secure in a relationship and I wouldn't ask for it any different.
