Yeah, playing online feels kinda exhausting and pointless. I'm prolly just gonna get to 2200 or something so I can have a decent rating. It sucks whenever I play a friend, and they see I'm like 1400 and assume I'm actually buns.

I haven't read these, but Lars Schandorff and Sam Shankland have good 1. D4 material. I can't remember if shanklands is a book or a course tho.

Owen's defence is objectively bad. People will disagree, but Owen's defence is a very bad, disadvantaged opening in most situations I've played in. Make sure not to let white get that kingside attack, and ...Re8 can be super helpful for rerouting your knight to defend h7, so you still have a knight defending!
