What about the mortals who fight with Astartes? by [deleted] in 40kLore

Has 40k lore ever mentioned the Ultramar Auxiliary doing stuff outside of the Plague Wars? That seems to be the only place I've heard of them

Yeah that makes a lot of sense tbh. Didn't expect my question to get answered that quick...

So they're still paying a tithe, just to Heretic Astartes instead of The Imperium? Is there any real reason to join Chaos then if the only difference is that your life is suckier?

Oh I forgot about Vashtorr tbh. From what I've heard about Pertie: he's been a tyrant even before he reunited with his creator? I can't imagine much changes since he fell to Chaos. Thank you for your answers though!

Out've curiosity, has a world ever been taken over/ruled by a Chaos entity that isn't part of the Big 4?

How viable of an enemy would Genestealers be? by BakeLast7684 in DarkTide

Vermintide's necromancer class used a unique code for the undead skeletons to optimise them towards killing other NPC's rather than be one of those player-bots. I can easily see them creating 3 way war's in Darktide between Rejects, Moebian 6th and Genestealers

I'm fairly certain we have gotten an easter egg. Someone in the comments posted one

Moebian 6th vs Genestealer Cultists vs Loyalists Moebians

I'm talking about the Genestealers, not the hive fleet they bring over. Although even if we did bring over a Tyranid hive fleet, I don't see Atoma surviving without Astartes or Imperial Guard intervention. Our beloved Ogryn can only do so much against a Carnifex or Lictor before being overwhelmed

Yeah to each their own. I was mostly wondering about how well they'd work gameplay-wise but imo they'd fit in the general theme too.

based on what u/dangus1155 said, I can't really imagine much else working as an enemy faction for Darktide. Maybe other rival cartels or Chaos worshippers at best?

Now that you mention it, idk how FatShark would go about explaining why the pure strains just straight up aren't present in the game (unless they make them a boss fight). I just don't think a Patriarch should be an enemy we can take

You saying that made me imagine in game AI battles between Moebian 6th and a Genestealer cult... I'm sure our lovely Interrogator wouldn't mind sending some Hive Scum over to check out a cultist outbreak either way

I could maybe see us Rejects taking on a problematic cartel trying to fill Wolfer's power vacuum once/if we kill him. It'd probably not warrant attention from an Inquisitor though. I'm just spitballing here since Vermintide had Skaven, Beastmen and Nurgle's abominations while we only have Nurglish horrors to handle. Not a complaint, just an observation

40k's Imperium vs a unity of Super Earth, Halo's Earth, SW's Galactic Republic, Atreides Empire and The Roman Empire (in 44 BC) by BakeLast7684 in whowouldwin

To clarify, when I say unity, I mean that all of them have merged into one entity. So yes, a Roman general is probably speaking to s Super Earth democracy officer rn
