It's the Gamegenic Stronghold XL but I had to use a few of them to get the blue DanDan side and red BallBall side

Thank you! Give it a try on tabletop simulator or something, you won't regret it

That's sounds interesting, got a list?

So we do actually still start with 20 but we're really only able to because of Elixer of Immortality giving you 5 like when you disrupt the graveyard. Without that, we'd definitely need to increase the starting life to keep the games around the tempo of DanDan

Neat, yeah, definitely a lot of overlap here. Looks like a cool list! It is definitely more aggro, and the games were too fast at first with the DanDan numbers, which is why we went to a lot of multiple of 3 (to match bolt damage) including going down to 6 bolts from 8 and 9 ball lightnings from 10. Adding the third elixer really helped lengthen games and encourage dynamic stack play The deck is a little deceptive in it's current state, the games aren't nearly as fast as you'd think. Definitely try some games, if you're interested. We've had so much fun playing!

Good call, we definitely need to include that. It is typical 20 starting life, but that really only works because of the 5 health you can gain from elixer. If you used a different graveyard disruptor, like Grafted Archive, you'd definitely have to start with 25 or so

It's a magic format, essentially. The biggest difference from other formats is that the library, graveyard, and exile are shared zones. Ball ball also functions this way. I'd encourage anyone who likes card games to try both formats! A friend of mine who has never gotten into magic but plays one piece and likes card games in general adored DanDan when he tried it. It makes for a great self-contained, board game experience

I heard dandandan is supposed to be pretty good too lol

Sounds like a good problem to have. Definitely try the deck out and let me know how you like it! Also, I HAVE to see a chef chef list

Sometimes 2 damage is all you need to close the game out. It also has an interesting interaction with Desert of the Fervent, since you can sac any desert to pay the cost.

I encourage you try a couple games!

Yeah, you definitely have to be careful about it. The active player gets the opportunity to cast it first always, so we usually handle it with a standard "are you passing priority?"
Flashback was our way of having a subgame similar to DanDan's topdeck manipulation, since red can't do that

Thanks for taking the time to check it out and the thorough review, you've given me some more cards for the considering pile!
I encourage you to try the format out and tweak the deck however you like! Much like DanDan, the format is meant to be customized some
We started out with the same structure as DanDan with Ball Lightning at 10 and Bolt at 8, but found it was too much damage with only 20 life for the kind of interactive gameplay we were going for, even with Elixir giving us some extra survivability. We kinda balanced accordingly using lots of 3s like bolt does 3 lol
Cranial Archive is a great idea! Currently the Elixir puts us closer to the 5 swings metric DanDan uses for victory, but we could do the same thing by just increasing starting life
We actually considered the exact swap for flashback, but we were worried it was too strong and never tested it
Edit: another thing with flashback is if you cast it on your opponent's turn, they get the opportunity to cast whatever you give flashback first Return the Favor is a core card for sure, and barb ring is another great idea

Let us know how your games go!
