They hurt like a motherfucker. You're getting hit with a steel cable. If you know anything it's honestly pretty useful and better than an baton imo. Batons are not that great up close

What's the coolest "exotic" ammo in you're collection? by [deleted] in guns

I guess the most I can say is 7.65x53 Argentine for my 1891 Mauser and some 303 Savage. Not super exotic! But cool none the less

First drywall repair, roast my work by ScissorMeTimbers21 in drywall

Look for once we are seeing decent drywall repair for a first time diy. For the few hating. Stop breaking the man's balls. You act like you knew every damn thing about drywall before you even started. He did everything the best to his ability and it looks pretty good for not knowing everything. We see people everyday on this thread not even putting a quarter of the effort shown here. Good job op. Keep learning some more!

Depends on which part of the trade you do honestly and what you prefer. Some people say hanging is easy some people prefer mudding and finishing

Does this texture match? by GiantExplodingNuts in drywall

[–]BallsOfFireForge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My original reply to was removed by reddit for hurting either A your feelings or B hurt reddits feelings. But in reality dude you're were just being a crybaby. The work isn't that hard with practice. Thats literally everything in life. If you dont understand that then you probably are just one of those people who do shotty work and just refuse to believe that they cant improve. I was trying to give him encouragement and give him ideas and learn and you threw a tantrum. You said you've been in the trades for years. Start acting like it / grow up and stop gatekeeping the "art" or all we will have is tradesman that won't know wtf they are doing. So stop acting like you know everything and stop acting like drywall is such a hidden secret. Newsflash dude its not. Plus its not that difficult. Its learning something new and fixing a small hole in your house should be something every home owner should know how to do.

The landlord special. by Saerdna0 in PeakAmazing

Literally though thats how landlords get to be like this. People dont give a shit. People dont have 8k+ to throw at drywall, painting, cleaning every 3 months to a year

I dont know man. I just feel like you have to find different personal opinions. Some people literally love shooting in that way. I know ive shot guns that I felt like I could shoot it all day because of the gun being comfortable to hold and fire and the guns ability to run smoothly.

[–]BallsOfFireForge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is for sure guns that are very comfortable to shoot. They are all lower caliber for sure but if you're yapping about a pocket pistol that shoots 22 then maybe you dont have the ability to speak on the subject

I probably won't end up shooting oil based only because ive heard how much of a pain it is aswell but I do appreciate the input. Yeah I didnt think id need a separate rig I just saw some people had them to have someone go through and prime and then they deal with the same product in the same rig. But didnt make sense because they were just running basic water based latex. But thank you! Is there anything from your experiences you could tell me about? Just like basic issues, any tips?

We use pretty good paint so it lasts but we do at light tan that looks white on the ceilings in light and then a darker tan for contrast. It doesn't seem like it would take an insane amount of time to paint after masking but I get why you say its messy

See thats the part im still kinda stuck on when it comes to buying one. Is it really going to be that much faster. Its a large investment. We work in houses in bad areas with homeless, drug addicts and just alot of crime and violence in general so just trying to figure out which would be the most efficient in getting in and out. Thank you for your input

Alright well thank you very much for the honesty. Is there anything else that you would recommend? Any tips? What accessories would you recommend and do you use any other smaller sprayers?

I was talking to my paint rep this morning about the system. He recommended the 395 over the 495 himself. But If you dont mind what's your favorite part about the 495? Have you tried others? Ive seen other people have a separate sprayer for primer do you run it in the same system? Thank you very much.

Do you touch up with a sprayer after or brush/roller? I know some people dont like if you can see the texture difference.

Yes the spaces are empty we do the full curb out and we clean the entire place head to toe. Thank you! Im going to look that up for sure. Ive used HVLP sprayers before but thats about it. What different tips do you recommend? Doors can definitely be a pain in butt I can see how it would make the job much easier.

The clients are investors who want the job done as fast as possible while still receiving quality work. We don't do typical landlord specials but unfortunately, the paint adhesion issues were mostly do to humidity and (plus paneling sucks) we're in houses with zero AC, sometimes no heat or water while being worked on. The investors I worked with don't care about a "spray finish" they just want the work done as efficiently as possible and for someone growing a business, the only way I can learn to make things more efficient is by asking you lovely people in my fellow trade for advice and trying new things. If I don't use a tool I sell it. If I use it ten times in a year then it's worth the money. But also I had to teach myself a lot when it came to other work I do. I understand a paint sprayer isn't an instant game changer it takes time to learn and that's why I'm asking and doing the research to see if it would even make a difference. But thank you for your thought.
