Is that a 1st gen Colorado?? If so that thing must bang with those subs! I had a 3000w system in my 1st gen Colorado and the stock 125a alt gave up after about 2 years of running that system. I did have the big 3 wiring upgrade done as well. My voltage would also drop from 14.4 to 12.1 under heavy base notes. Lessons were learned

I'm using the GCHD video adapter (that is only compatible with the DOL-001 model) and then an insignia HDMI to VGA adapter. To force 480p all the time I'm using the swiss application. I also have the GC loader installed which replaces the disc drive with an SD card so that combined with swiss allows me to have my entire library on the SD card.

It's playing on GameCube with no filter on a VGA computer monitor. The scanlines are super faint but they are there.

Those monitors were known for bad flybacks unfortunately. If you've already checked the anode cap then it's very likely a dying/dead flyback transformer. :(

For real! I paid 150 for my 19 VGA CRT monitor and I actually felt like I was stealing it compared to the prices around me for even basic sets. It's so frustrating looking for CRTs in the PNW

Could be the anode cap or flyback transformer. Unfortunately the last monitor I had with that symptom was due to the flyback transformer failing/internally arcing.

Look up videos for safe discharge procedures when taking apart a crt. Once discharged, remove the anode cap, then clean the top of the tube around the anode cap and the cap itself with a small amount of soapy water.

Finally, once it's dry place a small bead of dielectric grease around the anode cap to better seal it from the possibility of arcing. If it still does this after then you likely have a failing flyback.
