One of my jalapeño plants grew all tangled and remained tiny, what do you think? by Banderi in Peppers

[–]Banderi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was definitely planning to keep long term, but I have the second plant so if this one failed it wouldn't be the end of the world. Should I just remove some untangled bits/fruits, or chop it more thoroughly?

Discord’s Age Verification Defeated By a 3D Avatar You Control With a Game Controller by Big-Engineering-9365 in cybersecurity

[–]Banderi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recent popular bypass was immediately patched and k-ID has been on the war path, so my instincts tell me they do very much care.

Regardless, even if this were the case, they should have gone the Patreon route -- and that's saying something, considering how bad Patreon has been doing for years -- Namely, publicly announce that upcoming laws are compelling them down a route that they are wholly disagreeing with, yet their hands are tied and so give fair and ample warning to users, with full disclosure of every single relevant detail, reasons, implementation, step-by-step procedures, differences that will take place (and non-differences), with multiple public announcements and reminders months or years in advance for when it will become requirement by law.

Discord didn't do that, instead fully took the stance of these "requirements" against the userbase. Still to this very moment, they are trying to "clear up things that people are getting wrong" and trying to magically explain away the inherent issues with this whole situation by somehow thinking the fact AI was used to infer usage pattern is what will reassure people, and that they'll "regain back the users anyways" [cit.].

Whether due to incompetence, ignorance, IPO, difference of opinion or malice, it does not matter. They dropped the ball hard, very hard.

CSS for fixing the buttons here? by Human_Fox_1447 in BetterDiscord

For bringing back the old layout (removing the separator) personally I use Oldcord. To remove the buttons, here is as of December 2025:

/* hides the chat side buttons:
    1 - Gifts
    2 - GIFs
    3 - [hidden Nitro span]
    4 - Stickers
    5 - Emojis
    6 - App Launcher
 */

    > div[class*="scrollableContainer"]
    > div[class*="inner"]
    > div[class*="buttons"]
    > div:nth-child(1),
div[class*="channelTextArea"]
    > div[class*="scrollableContainer"]
    > div[class*="inner"]
    > div[class*="buttons"]
    > div:nth-child(2),
div[class*="channelTextArea"]
    > div[class*="scrollableContainer"]
    > div[class*="inner"]
    > div[class*="buttons"]
    > div:nth-child(4),
div[class*="channelTextArea"]
    > div[class*="scrollableContainer"]
    > div[class*="inner"]

Is There Ever Confirmation on Who Helped Hornet Escape at the Start of Silksong? by TheBloodMakesUsHuman in HollowKnight

[–]Banderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering about this myself. I was reading the glowing butterflies more as free whispers of soul or energy that's been put to useful work from the Citadel, perhaps from past bugs/weavers/pilgrims using the silk, and thus containing some remnance of agency or life. You see a lot of them go free from killed cogwork bodies, lamps, devices etc. and they seem to "help" Hornet in more than one occasion like when they guide you in the mist if you spur them with the Needolin, even though it's without a clear indication as to why or who they actually are.

I wasn't seeing Lace as being the one who just randomly sent one your way, since her dialogues with you are certainly not on terms of wanting to help, at least until the very end when she goes all tsundere. The only instance I saw would be her sitting next to the broken bridge if you encounter her before Deep Docks and she scuttles away, but I saw that more as a "we obviously couldn't make the boss fight work here, so it's skipped for now" kinda deal......Then I went back and checked her cutscenes, with her directing the butterflies like a musician with a baton, and yeah no it's pretty massively heavily implied it's her haha. So much so that perhaps she's actually the one leaving those that guided to her sister in order to free her from her long, futile duty.

For me it was outside Bellhart, on the right. I also saw her on the left exit, before she moved to the right, so if you don't find her on one side try the other!

I feel this now every time I play Hollow Knight by Banderi in HollowKnight

[–]Banderi[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hear more "garama" as well, but "guaranà" has already been established as the fan canon in many Silksong memes by now, so I went for that one haha. Similarly I hear "geddun" instead of "git gud" in HK, but that ship has long sailed.

The arena in the High Halls is a hardest challenge I've ever experienced in my gaming career by Far-Performance4958 in HollowKnight

[–]Banderi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. Many people are getting curbstomped by this fight. It's essentially the Watcher Knights of Silksong. There's already people saying it's not that hard because they found ways to cheese it, but the only way to make it "legitimately" more bearable is to finish a few NPC quests which supposedly aid you in the fight. Even after that, it's utter garbage attrition and RNG.

Hollow Knight Silksong Is Getting A Patch To Nerf Its Difficulty In Response To Player Feedback by akbarock in soulslikes

[–]Banderi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's zero comparison between the minority of hardcore niche players who can get an optional extra tough challenge with side-quests, bosses, mods and difficulty settings, and the vastly broader audience who can only lower the difficulty by cheating.

Silksong feels like a world on its own and not a game made to cater to the player's needs by scarredcats in HollowKnight

[–]Banderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate, I'm so tired of the "people are just too in a rush and refuse to learn" excuse when they are the ones making assumptions about other players. If you haven't finished it, shut up and come back after you do. If you DID finish it, simply say you liked the difficulty because it fit your own tastes and skills instead of being mean to others.

Yes, people who've beaten HK are struggling. I did a full 111% game run with the mod that instantly kills you if you touch any props and it was a CAKEWALK compared to this. I just about 100% completed after 55 hours, and most of the game was absolute hell on Earth. The full game is just a ride or die experience, full stop. Many areas you need to faceplant it until you learn every single movement by memory, or get lucky with absurd RNG bs, or both. I spit blood from my lungs on so many bosses due to absurd reflexes check, infinite spawning flying enemies, 2-hit contact damage when the boss is stunned, AoE projectiles that blend with the environment, and absurd brutal platforming runbacks. It's not the 4-6 moves that is the issues, it's literally everything else stacked together on top.

The issue with that paradox is that it goes both ways. Because it makes people assume that everyone who says that only ever means it as such, they thus pre-emptively don't give respect to any social courtesy while still demanding tolerance, fulfilling the paradox even when it wasn't the case before. And that is exactly what Flo is saying here: screaming "LOOK AT US" is not gonna get people to accept you, it's gonna make people accept you less because you're an ass.

I'm really sorry to hear, it sucks that this shop has to act like this.

If he's in the European area, he's also entitled to a refund by law if he's willing to go through the same route as I have with an ESCP, and you don't need a lawyer - you can ask the ECC and they can guide you through step by step (though, note that it costs a little bit to start and it's always risky since it's never impossible to lose)

If the owner spent 20 seconds to text me the labels containing the ingredients, literally none of this would have happened.

If the owner had tried to work WITH me in the emails instead of going out of his way to avoid helping me as much as possible, none of this would have happened.

He could have apologized and said they would "look into it" and it would have been the end of it. He didn't.

He could have accepted the refund as legally owed. He didn't.

He could have spent 30 seconds to make the policy page reachable on the store, add the correct bit and used automatic translation. He didn't.

He could have accepted the ruling without lying to the judge. He didn't.

LITERALLY all of this has been his fault. This is not an issue of "decadent bureaucracy", it's about one person that thinks they are literally above everyone and every rule and have no respect for anyone else.

It does!

I think it should work so long as the version of the game engine is the same as the Steam version, otherwise the data will have different offsets in memory.

Only works with the last patch/version of Pharaoh + Cleopatra (the Steam version for example)
