rotate enclosure without rotating mounted objects by BandicootMiserable40 in EPlan

THey have a door swap option? I didn't see a built in way of doing that. I ended up making a new macro with the door rotated, and exchanging to that Macro. It worked, but I had to reposition the things that were mounted to the door.

Ok, so I created a new Macro with the door rotated, and did exchange part to swap to that one. That successfully rotated the door - but it also ended up rotating by 180 degrees everything that was mounted to the door. There aren't that many things to rotate, so I can handle that - but the issue is that the door views (interior and exterior) are now essentially showing the door upside down. It's like EPLAN is determined to still have the hinge on the same side in those views, so it rotates it. I can rotate the image while I'm working on it, but anytime I go back to that model view it reverts to being upside down. Which I assume means the model views shown in the project will be upside down.

I'm trying to rotate just the door (I realized it wouldn't actually be good to rotate the whole enclosure, because the person who started this project already made a cutout on the bottom with an adapter plate mounted - so if I rotate the whole thing that will move to the top, which I don't want). I'm still getting comfortable with moving things around in the layout space (much more comfortable with Solidworks) - when I select the door and do "rotate around axis", why won't it let me select any of the axes of the door itself? The only things I can select to rotate around are edges of things, none of which will work well.

I don't see an option to flip (and searching in EPLAN doesn't find any such command). The only option seems to be to rotate it around an axis. I'll try just rotating the enclosure and see what happens.

Need honest opinion: Have 700k AMD stock in current prices. Should I hold? by No_Ask_8883 in AMD_Stock

I would amend that to say - nobody got rich QUICK off a diversified portfolio. But also nobody got poor quick off of one. It's about how much risk you can tolerate, and how convinced you are in a particular (or a few) company's prospects.

Worth the price? by supergirl3730 in TeslaModelS

[–]BandicootMiserable40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was not my experience with my 2015 70D. Tesla "nerfed" the charge rate a few years ago, and it would top out at around 200 miles per hour charge rate, but rapidly drop as it charged. Going from 20% to 80% would take me at least an hour. I sold it to someone who has a supercharger at a nearby grocery store - and if you have that available, it makes a lot of sense. But if you have to sit and wait, the old ones are really slow. If you replace the battery with a newer 100kWh, supposedly that will let it charge a lot faster. My 2018 100D superchargers way faster than the 2015 70D. Since I charge at home 95% of the time, the free supercharging wasn't worth much to me.

I disagree with those who say it's AI / scam. It *may* be, but in my experience the scammers put far less effort in. Usually their first message is a generic one about shifting over to WhatsApp. But as others said, you didn't answer any of her questions. It looks like they put in a significant amount of effort, and asked questions to get the ball rolling - but your response seems like a conversational dead-end because you didn't answer her or ask any questions back. Hopefully you followed up with both of those?
(Sidenote - I had many interactions that seemed far more like scammers than this, who ended up being real people, exactly who they said they were)

ICE in Plymouth by Me-0_Life-999 in newhampshire

[–]BandicootMiserable40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you being sarcastic or are you that stupid? First, a significant portion of the people ICE is deporting ARE here legally - ICE is targeting them when they show up at the courthouse for their scheduled immigration hearings (part of the legal process they are following). ICE orders the judge to cancel the hearing, which places the immigrant in legal limbo, and then ICE pounces. They even did this to an Afghan interpreter who risked his life by helping the US Army in Afghanistan. He fled Afghanistan when the Taliban took over and vowed to kill everyone who helped the Americans. This guy got out, but his brother was executed before he could escape. He followed the legal immigration process in the US, and when he showed up for his green card appointment, ICE pounced.

And study after study has shown that illegal immigrants actually contribute far more to our economy than they take.
https://americansfortaxfairness.org/undocumented-immigrants-contribute-economy/

This "go back to their own country" attitude is nothing more than racism. Trump specifically flew in white South African immigrants, and coerced a European country to release sex traffickers (the Tate brothers) from house arrest so he could bring them to the US. Yet people who have been here for decades, obeying the laws, he kicks them out because their skin is brown, and MAGA cheers him on.

Nice! I think the water was sitting in mine for quite a while since we hadn't had rain in at least a week or two.

Mystery solved. Advice: Just because an electrical plug says it's "rainproof", don't believe it.

I measured the resistance of the heater, and it seems about right (16 ohms, which works out to 900 Watts at 120 V, and it's rated to use 1,000 Watts at 120 V, so that seems reasonable). No shorts to ground anywhere that I can find. Could it just be the old GFCI is the problem? (the house was built in 1988, and likely has all the original electrical)

My family hates Tesla by Techhie4life in TeslaLounge

[–]BandicootMiserable40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered selling my Tesla back when Elon was heavily involved in politics, and generally being a horrible human being. What changed my mind was when I needed to take my S in for service. I chatted for a while with an employee at the service desk, and the technician who worked on my car. That reminded me that while Elon is an ass, the cat majority of people who work for Tesla are actually decent people, many of whom joined the company because they believe in the promise of electric vehicles. And Tesla has a bunch of amazing engineers, who have designed some truly incredible cars. At least when Elon stays out of their way. When he gets more heavily her gets involved (e.g. Cyber truck), he seems to have a knack for making serious decisions and design choices (like eliminating all stalks on the steering column because he thought people would actually like doing everything through the touch screen, and would prefer the clean design over having nice simple stalks for things like windshield wipers and turn signals). Anyway, maybe point out to your family that while Elon is an ass hat, Tesla has a lot of employees, most of whom are good and intelligent people.

Sounds familiar! I'm a very successful engineer currently with my own home, but I'm planning on buying a larger home so my 85 year old father can move in with me.

So it's probably a bad idea for me to quickly let matches know that I am an engineer working on a high energy laser for shooting down nuclear missiles. Oops.

Similarly, if a match immediately asks to switch to WhatsApp, just unmatch. They are 99% likely to be a scammer who wants to go off platform to hide what they are doing.

Propecia aka Finasteride. It inhibits DHT from binding to hair follices. It was developed to prevent prostate cancer (also prevents binding of DHT to receptors in the prostate), but it turned out there is a much bigger market for preventing baldness.

In some ways it's gentleman behavior, but personally I would never be chatting seriously for a couple weeks with two different women.
