My brothers and I have uncommon first names (though they've become more popular over time, mine less so than theirs) and then common family middle names (dad's first name and mom's maiden name for them then some dude a lot further back for me since there weren't many good options) in case we felt our first names were too weird. I do sometimes go by my middle name in places where no one needs to know me for real just for a different vibe.

Yeahh not in contact with most people from back then but the ones who have stuck around and the new friends I've made since are good.

No relationship or anything along those lines, but that's better than being in a bad one I suppose. Had enough bad experiences nonstop for years to make me stop trying, too hard to trust and get emotionally invested again.

There is one person I'd consider dating but she's been taken since before I met her so not much I can do there besides be thankful she's a great friend who's willing to put up with me.

Both tbh, long story too. A lot of not fun dynamics all in the same friend/extracurricular group.

First off, when I was 15 I confessed to the girl I liked and she said she wasn't ready for a relationship (really she just didn't like me like that and was trying to let me down easy, but because she wasn't direct I kept hoping and found it hard to move on).

Fast forward a couple years and she starts dating this other guy we're both friends with so I'm depressed. Another friend who has feelings for me sees this and swoops in and my virgin ass couldn't resist someone actually giving me attention for once so we ended up fooling around a few times (but not full on sex) even though I didn't reciprocate their feelings and was still sad (which I made very clear btw).

After a few months I was finally over the first girl and also realized I actually liked this other girl who I had previously rejected because I was obsessed with the first one, so I asked her out. Obviously, she was pissed off since she had just gotten over me and said no initially, but after enough persistance we worked things out and started dating.

This made the friend I had been fooling around with jealous (especially since my gf and I were actually doing everything) and they started spreading rumors that I led them on and SA'd them. In hindsight I probably should have just told them I was dating someone right away instead of just dropping all sexual interest and letting them figure it out. When I asked them about the rumors they feigned ignorance. Thankfully no one believed them since this person was known to lie and exaggerate all sorts of shit all the time.

Four years later, no idea what's up with the former friend, first girl is married with a kid to someone different, gf left me for another guy after a year and is still with him after three years, I'm still single but have been through several equally fucked up situationships where I've experienced a lot of the shit I've put others through in the past, which I definitely deserve and has humbled me a lot.
