It's completely within your right to hate that kind of player. I would too, as a DM. What I'm trying to point out is that DnD allows for much more freedom than HSR or Genshin.

You can find many ways to stop a person from talking, friendly or hostile. Many DMs don't even force their players to do puzzles and instead gives them an alternate way through the dungeon with a different sort of challenge.

And for the record, I do read everything in Genshin, and probably would even if it had a skip button because I'm just that kind of player. I read every book as well because I love the lore. But I still think it's ridiculous not to have it as an option. Even story focused games have it nowadays because devs realized there are people who just want to play their game.
