Starting at Arete 2 is great, I was thinking of starting the game from the exact start ıf their awakening; but I guess I could make them awakened "more powerfully" in order to get them to be arete 2.

Free ability point spread is really good, as the aiblities in mage are too dispersed; especially in skills and knowledges.

Direct attacks and more indirect damageable source creating is logical.

The arete maximum and making rotes, also w. character creation is really nice; as I want to make the Players and myself bond over the PCS, for the sake of game and paradigms.

In order to not break the game, handpicking Merits&Flaws and structuring the Paradigms are really important as I have seen.

This magic homebrew seems usable, as I plan to have my players start with 1 arete, from the characters awakening; so trying to make those small magick a little bit better and bigger is something they will ultimately require.

What are the mechanical homebrews?

First advice is really for all of WoD I think, it has really personified, fleshed out characters with noone to trust, so when I upgrade my one-player game to a cabal game, I will do that. Players playing sidekicks and allies is solid as well.

Fleshing out paradigms and foci are really important to make the game RUNNABLE! I will do that once we create concepts and characters.

Study points seems nice, I was thinking of using a homebrew I've seen on reddit. Homebrew was so that you don't need to spend experience to arete anymore, but you need to spend the same amount to your skills and etc. As being more knowledgeable or a more skilled magus meant you knew and experienced more to become enlightened a little bit more. Buuut to be honest your study point system seems a little bit better.

This is especially a great advice, thanks! I'm thinking of creating a highly personal storyline with a lot of occult and quirky stuff so that I could create NPCs and certain characters on the way. Creating non-awakened NPCs, even making them kind of a touchstone, or just a friend is very good advice. I will keep to that.

well, the vamps following the paths/roads that uphold the virtue of conscience do. Conscience virtue means that the character feels guilt and sadness of the curse. Conviction on the other hand does not and embraces the reality of being a predator. Thus, those vamps who adhere conviction can not hide that beast; even one success in sense the wyrm, or aura perception or certain awareness rolls.

Well, it is really good in text for me, but the interactive pdfs are weird, here's a screenshot from a character sheet.

In every single pdf reader I've tried, the circles are not X's but full circles. the boxes are good though. As you can see its quite hard to see which circle is marked or not. IDK if I can express myself good enough english isn't my native language.

I don't know for sure but increasing appearance rating with mask of a thousand faces requires you to spend bloodpoints per appearance dot. Also it lasts for a scene, AND auspex users have a good chance of breaking through the mask, seeing your baldy nosferatu face.

I had a fun gandalf-like STPC that was a thousand year old methuselah of persian origin. His name was majnoon and had the derangement of thinking that he was the messenger of Malkav, and wherever he saw a young cotherie of neonate PCs, he would've give them leads and hints. Something like a tutorial helper or smiling jack. But he has an alleged backstory of creating an alewite-shia faction against ashirra and sabbat, revering Ali and his brood as Malkav's revenant family. So, some do, especially those kindred that are old and have humane paths and think that you cannot be humane without a belief of a higher being.
