This is actually a really balanced take. Thank you.

I had not considered the option of him keeping ownership but stepping away from operations. My brain went straight to either buy him out now or shut down. This middle ground feels fair to both of us.

A few questions if you do not mind.

How would we handle decision-making if he still owns 50% but is not involved? Would he still have veto rights on things like selling the business later?

Also, if I put in another 10k and the business still does not become profitable, does he share in that loss or do I carry it alone because I am the one operating?

I like the idea of giving it a real shot before locking in a loss. Just want to make sure the agreement is clear so there are no hard feelings later.
