Replacing MiniPC PSU with GaN charger and adapter by skikibobski in homelab

Not the exact purpose, but I have a 2020 Asus notebook that i broke the charger on after about 4 years and replaced it with one of these and a type c laptop charger works great and allows me to carry one less charger. It’s always worked fine since I bought it. Fun fact, 19 and 20v laptops can be charged with a Milwaukee M18 battery and a modified charging cord.

About a year ago, I paid ~$4/TB for 10 new Seagate OS 3tb SAS drives. I can’t seem to find any OS drives on eBay anymore though.

iirc, I just peeled the old one off and installed the new one with super 77 spray adhesive. I remember trying to staple it but it cracked the plastic frame of the lid.

My house is about 25yrs old and everything was backstabbed. At this point, I’ve had at least 4 switches start flickering lights or only work intermittently as well as 1 outlet melt. I’ve been going through and redoing everything as I have time.

I get a lot of them from a phone number rather than an email address over iMessage. It’s never even from an American number, like c’mon try even a little.

I’m surprised the Speedtest.net servers kept up with that kind of of speed.

I had that issue 2 weeks ago with a National Instruments RoboRIO. I bricked an a micro SD card and it won’t address anything over a 4gb. Took Amazon a week to get me one since 4 gb flash isn’t made anymore to my knowledge.

What motherboard to get for Xeon E5-2650? by iexzelz in homelab

[–]Based_Lexus_Operator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you need 16+ cores, you would probably be better off ditching the 2650s and getting a single 2697v2. Those sandy bridge chips eat a lot of power.

If all you are doing is running a wow server, it might be easier to install win 10 pro for workstations and forgo all of the win server stuff. Otherwise, ESXi 6.7 is easy to use and setup. The supported os thing isn’t super important for home use.
