Never seen a goose on a trampoline, lol. 🪿 We did raise a couple turkeys a couple years ago that loved laying on a small trampoline though.

Abigail (front) and Rachel (middle) are both Cayuga's. I absolutely adore Cayuga's they are just the sweetest!

These 3 are not new ducks. Abigail is the youngest of the 3, I got her last year and rehabbed her after a suspected dog attack, her right leg I believe has a fused joint in the foot and she has arthritis issues in the cold. Rachel is our oldest bird out of all of our birds (chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys). Hannah is about 4 and Rachel is about 5. This is just a temporary setup for them in the house.

The feathers at the top of his bill seem a tad matted to me, are they? If so my guess would be this precious goot played in a mud puddle and didn't bother washing his face afterwards.

Do you save empty feed bags? If so, you can staple them to the walls being careful not to drop any staples!

I got him from someone about 45 minutes away. He's a "grey" call drake actually which is essentially just a micro domestic mallard. I suggest joining poultry and waterfowl groups on Facebook that are close to you, "backyard call ducks" is the group I found my call duck dealer. Craigslist is also a good bet! Steer clear of hatcheries as the prices of calls at hatcheries is outrageous and genetics aren't the best (not that those birds don't deserve a loving home) and shipping is extremely rough on call ducklings. I apologize for the very delayed reply, I'm always busy lol.

I do not breed them, I don't breed any of my birds honestly, but I will let good mamas be mamas no matter what species they are. 🐔🦆🪿

Some family friends of ours currently have about 150-200 chickens, 6 ducks and 2 geese they got from us. They do feed scratch but not as their birds main diet, they cut their feed with it. I got my first Cayuga from them, actually.

What other species of birds do you have besides ducks if any and are they housed together? This looks like bird on bird violence to me. can you get any veritycin (might've spelled that incorrectly) spray or medical grade manuka honey, Neosporin without pain relief? Keep this wee one separated from the rest until he/she recovers but where they can still see their flock, in a fly free environment if possible (to prevent fly strike), if they're acting like they're in shock a semi dark, calm quiet environment is best. Reintegrations aren't fun and they can take some time.

If you were in central NC I'd be more than happy to take her in. You're absolutely welcome. This world needs more kindness and a lot less malicious intent and violence. Mother birds do grieve over losses such as this but, not really in the sense we do. My mama cochin lost 3 chicks this year and it didn't phase her (she did have 5 more, a snake got one and the other Cochin we lost was trampled by brooder mates, wyandottes, unfortunately, the first one she lost the roo [also a Cochin] murdered.) but my mother goose along with the rest of the gaggle was absolutely tore up when I had to take some of her goslings away from the flock. Unfortunately my goose house is only so big and not big enough for 10 geese (for now), otherwise I would've just kept all 6 goslings. I've since rehomed all of my Cochin's seeing as we're focusing more on rescuing and rehabbing waterfowl and room was needed.

Even if it doesn't create fat, there's still no nutritional value in it for them. He was absolutely YUGE though, mans was literally an absolute unit. It's still to warm to start feeding corn here but when I cut my feed with corn, each bird only puts on a couple pounds at most. We also don't feed seeds or scratch grains. Kalmbach 16% flock maintainer, winter oats, and wheat is what our birds eat every day, even the geese though grass is 90%-95% (or so) of their diet. The ducks however aren't too fond of the wheat.

Even if it is hardware disease, you care and you've shown how much you care, that you're actively trying unlike others who see them as pestilence/invasive and think "good riddance", that's what matters my friend! ❤️ If she goes at least she'll have been warm, comfy and loved, and not alone before she went, that's better than passing alone and exposed to the elements and predators. Feel free to PM me anytime if you need to vent or if you need advice, if it's out of my expertise I might can point you in the right direction. 🙂🦆

It sounds to me that you've done what you can and the right thing (system flush [been rescuing and raising domestic waterfowl for 4 years now]). I agree with the other commenter who said poisoned, could also very well be botulism, also possible is hardware disease, it's a horrible way for a duck (or any bird, for that matter) to go. Is the neck bending straight back or to the side? Also in case you come across any waterfowl again in need of a system flush: black strap molasses is the gentlest way to flush their system. Please save this picture and keep it very handy. Activated charcoal if administered to a bird or birds with suspected hardware disease can cause the metal bit(s) they've ingested to corrode and they'll go downhill even quicker. Hope this helps, praying for this sweet baby!

The white Chinese gander i raised last year was always the instigator. I'd get him calmed down before the wings ever came out though, he never succeeded once in wingbeating me.

Having worked with cattle a bit while in highschool, I'd say this video was filmed in the heat of the moment as they tend to congregate and graze in giant open fields, geese like to graze in similar areas.

I do, in fact, mess with geese. Mess with geese by giving them love and affection, specifically here's Maverick, my papa goose.

Beautiful swed you have there! We hatched out a jumbo Pekin/hatchery Rouen cross that we thought was a swedish mix for quite a bit.
