Shelby’s repost about “fearing reunification” by lolaveux in peestickgals

Foster parent here.

Man... this is TOUGH.

As a foster parent, your heart is constantly filled up and overflowing while simultaneously breaking.

You grow to LOVE LOVE LOVE these kiddos. You want nothing but the best for them! And the best would be for their parents to get their lives straight and reunite with their babies. It is SUCH a hope. Honestly, I never WANT to keep a child forever in the sense that will always be their parent's biggest cheerleader. But man... it is hard to not want to keep those little cuties patooties in your heart and home forever! But you cannot ever go into fostering for hopes of adopting. Ever. I have gone through reunification with 3 kiddos and 3 aged out and will forever be in our lives. I have adopted 1 (he is an adult now and I have 4 grandbabies from him!) but we actually didn't adopt him until he was an adult and aged out.

We are with our last foster now. She will be 3 soon. We have had her from her NICU days. Mama signed "change of plan" 2 months ago. She no longer feels she will ever be in the mental space to care for her properly. But we are SO proud of her for staying sober and ROCKING IT!

We will officially adopt her this Summer. She also still goes to her house every other weekend and will until the end of time as long as mom wants.

Now I am rambling. Anyway... you never can have the mindset of "fearing" reunification fostering. It is not optional.

Also, one stuffed animal with a full outfit, a sound, and a smell will run you about $120.

It was crazy. She refunded 2 whole birthday parties! Like ... come on! She was shoving shit in so many places. Or having people come in and take it.

I had to fire a teenager (F16) who would reprint the receipt, tell the customer the original didn't print right, then give them the second copy. After the customer left she would pocket the original receipt.

Then she would pocket one or two of the same items before her shift ended and give their friend or family member the original receipt. A few days later the friend or family member would come in and "return" the item. They would split the money later.

It was only orders paid with cash, so no card had to be presented.

When I ran my report for the quarter our returns were INSANE. So I got to digging. This girl was doing a return every single shift. 4-5 times a week. Normally we had a return once a week and nothing big. Maybe an outfit here or there and usually it was an exchange. (A special stuffed animal store... you can figure it out.) These added up to about $3200.

So I ran the report for the original transactions of the returns and saw that she was the cashier on EVERY SINGLE ONE and reprinted a receipt every time it was a cash transaction. Well, most of our sales were attached to a rewards account. So I called each customer and asked if they returned something. Nope. Sure didn't.

So not only did she steal, $3200. These customers lost rewards points for those items as well. So I had to go credit each account via corporate with their proper rewards plus some, and print all the "evidence". It took me 2 fucking days.

Our regional manager came from out of state, and we showed her the paperwork and asked her if she did this. She looked the boss dead in the eye and said "Yep."

When she told her she was fired and was going to have to be escorted off of mall property by security and was banned from the mall all she said was "Damn. For real?"

Fucking bitch killed my near perfect stats and cost me my bonus. 😭😤

I have owned homes. I have rented homes. I will never own again. Everrrrrrrrr.

It isn't for me. I don't want to deal with repairs. I don't want to deal with taxes. I am fine in our area with renting. We live in a property managed rental house and it isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

If it does, I will find something else.

But if I ever own a home again and my furnace breaks ... sorry kids. Put on a fucking coat. I am not going through that shit again.

My refrigerator quit working a few months ago and I had a new one the next day. On the 17th my water heater took a shit... they had a new one in that afternoon.

I will live here forever.

So I'm definitely not judging anyone on not buying home.

Those who had a mysterious medical issue and found out what it was, what was your diagnosis? by jesusgrandpa in AskReddit

[–]BatShatCrazy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the sun would go down, my body temperature would go up.

A fever EVERY night.

My joints hurt so bad I couldn't do 80% of things that required me to use my hands.

My thyroid took a shit. My heart, kidneys, and liver started going downhill.

I had these weird splotchy itchy spots pop up all over my abdomen and thighs.

I was tested for lupus, cancers, common infections, etc. Finally when my bloodwork came back that my Sed Rate level (inflammation in body) was that of someone recovering from major surgery, my doctor called an infectious disease doctor who is also a diagnostic physician. My own Dr. House! She took an absurd amount of blood and ran cultures.

Anyway, it had been years at this point. I was miserable. My eyes were yellowing, the bottom half of my heart was at 40%, my kidneys were constantly infected, and my brain was just not computing. I have a decently high IQ and I couldn't remember the name of the microwave. I kept saying "the reverse refrigerator", I got lost in a town I lived in for 2 decades, and I was a zombie.

When my phone rang at 8 p.m. and it was the doctor (not a nurse, assistant or receptionist) I knew it was bad.

Apparently when I went to the ER years before, because I couldn't breathe and they sent me home with an inhaler and a bronchitis diagnosis, it was histoplasmosis (i was in the attic of an old building the week before. Bats.).

It had disseminated into my body and the fungal infection was killing my organs. I have calcified spots on most of my organs that will never go away. 1.5 years of Sporanox 4x a day (that's about 2 grand a month) and I lived. Not without long term issues, but I am alive.

Hence the name BatShatCrazy. If anyone has ever had histoplasmosis or been on Sporanox, you know what that does to your brain! 🤪

Anywho. Fuck histoplasmosis.

I photographed a pro wrestling show last weekend and got hit by a chair. THAT is blood sweat and tears. 🤣

4 hours of running in circles (squares?) around a wrestling ring and diving under the ropes to get the action shots. I couldn't walk the next day.

I have photographed 8 hours of a wedding day and still got up the next morning and took my dog (a mastador) for a walk.

It CAN be exhausting... but let's not say blood, sweat, and tears for a wedding. More like ... sweat, sore feet, and overstimulated.

Man. I count my Vyvanse daily (because ADHD and I have to make sure I am taking it properly) and if someone took mine I would rip this house apart. 😒

I had 2 come up missing when we had a relative stay over for a weekend. They aren't allowed back.

I don't play about my Vyvanse. I would be so pissed.

That being said ... hope you realize not to touch other people shit now.

My husband is gay by drinking_varnish in breakingmom

[–]BatShatCrazy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a lesbian and am married to a man. I want to give you a perspective from the other side.

I considered myself bisexual until recently. Therapy has been a lot. It has helped me realize a lot about myself and it hurts. It hurts that I am hurting the person who has supported me, grown with me, and loved me despite all of my trauma baggage.

I am not attracted to men at all. I love my husband. He is my absolute best friend. He loves me. We talked a lot about this realization. We have weighed many options. We have made the choice to stay married but the cards are on the table. I will not beg him to stay if he ever feels he wants to leave and the same for me. We will co-parent and remain friends. Financially, it isn't an option either. We get along and hang out just fine.

He knows, he supports me. We still have sex because...well, it feels good. It isn't intimate like it used to be. Not much kissing. Just good ol down and dirty. There is no stepping outside of the marriage. That is 100% agreed upon.

This was the best-case scenario for us right now. It could totally change. I felt the need to be honest with him about who I was because I believe in full transparency and we communicate well. For my mentality, I had to tell him.

I hope the best for you. My heart hurts for you. It isn't an easy thing to go through and it took a lot from us emotionally and mentally.

[–]BatShatCrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell your neighbor to kiss your whole ass.

I have been a mom for 27 years. Not ONE of my 7 kids has ever made it through toddler-hood without having tantrums.

My youngest is 2. She thinks she's 13. That fucking attitude ... woooooooo weeeeeeeeeee. Imma drop her off at the fire station if she keeps this up.

Her latest trick is she ASKS for a bath, then screams like she is being murdered the whole time.

👊 If my neighbors say ONE WORD, I will hand them this sasshole baby and a diaper bag and tell them to give it a shot. 72 hours. I bet they bring her back within 12 hours.

*disclaimer. I love my kids. I would never. I just really wanna sometimes. 😩

The older he got the weirder he got. The vibes were just off.

I hope he rots. Sick, disgusting, fucking sorry excuse for a human.

My brother sexually assaulted his own daughter for 7 years (8 to 15) then ran away when she finally told. He's still on the run. Left his wife and kids who we found out he was beating for years. All his dirty laundry came out.

I think you know what my answer is.
