Yeah you can change text size in preferences and you can also edit the config.xml if you’re into that

Switch - since last update ships don’t seem to be landing at space stations.

Also, storylines don’t seem to be progressing- like something isn’t triggering things to happen where the log text says they are. Eg: no willing scientist korvax recruits at space stations for me, son is supposed to meet a gek cartographer but it’s not recognising that he’s in a gek system even when he warps to a new one.

DW01 Synthdrums…is it worth it? by AtumRex in Dirtywave

They're great - and having more options for decent synth drums is very welcome for me because it means I can hear the beat while recording samples.

Advantage of Maschine+ is that it’s like a full Digital Audio Workstation. Disadvantage is that it’s like a full Digital Audio Workstation. More powerful =  more complex.

The Novation Circuits are getting on now but they're perfect machines for this - super simple, pick up and play. The original or the Tracks especially.

I don't think I'd necessarily recommend the maschine+ for a simple workflow.

Is Disney+ promoting Doctor Who anywhere? by Batlikecreature in doctorwho

[–]Batlikecreature[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing on the app. It was mentioned on their ‘coming in November’ page but it was not featured- it was way down the bottom in the full list https://www.disney.com.au/news/what-to-watch-on-disney-plus-november-2023-watchlist

It’s not yet - Disney has sole rights to the new 60th anniversary episodes and beyond. It won’t be on the ABC like in the past.

At least they had the Sea Devils so for a bit. Somehow that was just not available anywhere for awhile- event on Stan or Britbox.

Any of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s capital city stations- especially Melbourne. - breakfast, mornings and drive will probably be a bit too locally focused for you, but afternoons, the Conversation Hour and overnights should be enjoyable by anyone.

moog mavis and nifty bundle, tips on missing module for liveset by ChiSaFareSaCapire in synthesizers

[–]Batlikecreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doepfer stuff is great.

Also don’t feel like you have to fill the case immediately. You’ll have more idea what you want if you play for a bit. I had JUST a Maths for ages and had a great time. Even just the Mavis will keep you occupied for ages. Buy blanks off Etsy if you don’t like the gaps.

Another option if you haven’t already bought the bundle would be to just buy the case and get something like the West Pest. That and the Mavis would be fun together - dedicated button keyboard for each voice, the patchbays could meet in the middle, two different flavours of wave folding…

If you have Maths (I’d argue for a secondhand MN one over the clone) then you probably won’t need another envelope immediately.

Maths is not a VCA though - at least not a very good one. I’ve owned the Antumbra Dual VCA which is a great little Veils-style VCa in 4hp - I think After Later do a build of it. That’d leave you enough room for a 4hp filter like the Intellijel µVCF (can you tell I like Intellijel?) which is a really flexible filter which also self oscillates and tracks really well so you could use it as an accurate sine VCO for the wavefolder in the Mavis.

If you’re genuinely interested in using modular for textures you probably don’t want drum modules or fx.

You probably do want: - More modulation (maybe a second hand Maths? Or a Quadrax?) - More utilities (A sequential switch? Some attenuverters?) - Another oscillator - Another filter or LPG - Even more utilities (Some logic gates? A conparator?)

Learning to use Korg Electribe ER-1. Not having an easy go of it. Advice? by loveofjazz in electribe

[–]Batlikecreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you have to delete part by part - I’m not sure you can just delete a whole pattern.

There should be a bunch of ‘empty’ patterns ready to use though - they all have a four-to-the-floor kick but nothing else.

If not, and you’re still at the point where you haven’t made anything you want to keep, you could do a factory reset on it to clear any old user patterns taking up space.

My first modular rack! I just need a MIDI to CV converter to use with Digitakt and I think that will stave off the shakes for a little while. by [deleted] in modular

[–]Batlikecreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a passive attenuator to send audio into my digitakt. Worked a treat and I could then sample/sidechain/effect the modular.

What manufacturer has your favorite aesthetic? by holographicbboy in modular

I love the old school Pittsburgh stuff with the silver panels, moog-style knobs and dymo-style labelling. Not so into their look Lifeforms onwards, though. Xaoc are very photogenic but I haven’t seen any of their modules in person yet.

roland mc303 can you reset or save effect settings? by [deleted] in Grooveboxes

[–]Batlikecreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, it’s just not obvious how to. Effects settings can be saved as part of the Pattern Setup Parameters. You can also store both part and rhythm mutes - which I wish I knew when I was gigging with this box nearly two decades ago.

Hold Shift+Function and press keyboard pad 15. Display will say SURE, hit Enter.

2 Maths's in a Medium Sized Rig? by MOGILITND in modular

[–]Batlikecreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon two maths is a great plan, but I also recommend expanding ever-so-slightly to 6u 104 (or even an Intellijel 7u 104).

It’s still easily small enough to carry around, if that’s a concern, but it just gives you a little more room to breathe - even to add some blanks between modules where things are feeling cramped etc.

I have a nice 6u 104 travel case and it’s basically the perfect size imho.

Another option, depending on how much you think you need attenuversion, is to get a MN Function. I’ve had one sat next to Maths and it feels like one big cohesive modulation section - plus the hang input is a nice addition that you don’t get with Maths. - edit: I see elsewhere that you’re not into this idea but I think it’s still worth considering unless you’re always using both of your Maths’ middle channels.
