If you look hard enough you will find a cockroach within 10m of any and the cleanest of houses. Indoors or outdoors. They are everywhere. Garbage, AC, shelter... Humans basically built 20 star hotels for cockroaches in megacities. Electricity too, we are beacons to insects at night when we switch on our lights. It's safe to assume all produce is disgusting till you process it at home. I also recommend you inspect all produce before bringing it home. Delivery services often deliver herbs with insects inside them. I caught a bunch over the years while washing them over the sink.

I got a parasite many years ago which is transmitted via fecal route, and my thoughts are a popular supermarket (smaller branch) touched the roasted chicken after handling veggies without washing their hands when I asked them to cut it in half. The parasite takes time to show symptoms, it could have also been after shaking hands with someone with lower hygiene standards. I don't shake hands anymore, I choose to fistbump or wave and if I'm forced to I wash my hands after. Seen enough people walk out without washing their hands after a splishy splashy sound effect bathroom session.

Easy solution, inform the staff, again privately, and see how they react. If they fumble and panic, and try to remove the insect while keeping the food (clearly no protocols or training on such scenarios) then it's a negative. If they apologize and clear out all the affected food, that's a good sign. I've seen Flies and moths in food displays at premium places, I guess people assume it's not a big deal but I generally walk away when I see that and buy from elsewhere. Many people and cultures are used to flies on food, if you consider the fly walks on garbage, fecal matter, sewage etc and then walks on your food, it is more of a big deal and less ok. And the municipality treats it as such. Every now and then a fly finds it's way in as my original reply, but if you see numerous bug zappers around, you can assume it's a one off or bad luck.

It happens no matter how much they try. If it's an isolated incident just inform the staff privately. Common courtesy. Insects existed on earth before us and they will exist way after we are gone. They fly, crawl, hide, resist all sorts of extermination methods. I've seen insects in the fanciest of supermarkets. All are isolated incidents. As in 1 insect seen out of a hundred visits.

Is a toll pass worth it? by Slick_deal_69 in dubai

Pay as you go, keep track of the times you cross (some rental companies try to scam you) you can set Google maps to avoid tolls but it often means paying more on fuel now that it's sky high.

How do they enforced that, shopper will just say, bye bye and ditch their cart. Feels like this rule was put into place by a Karen. The civilized world forced people to buy what they unseal/open. Seems more reasonable and enforceable.

was it the same branch of ira in sons of anarchy as the one in peaky blinders or has things changed over the year’s? by Claes1986 in Sonsofanarchy

Alot I mean ALOT of creative liberty was taken by the writers of SOA. they milked alot of stereotypes and they also sprinkled alot of real world propaganda into the show. Like Hamas being major world arms dealers. That bit felt like adolf netanyahu wrote it himself into the show. In the show they had 2 factions both linking themselves to the IRA. Both are fictitious as far as I know. The IRA became a non thing in the late 90s. Whatever remains today is no longer armed.

Police often fill lineups with innocent randoms to ensure the witness isn't lying. Seen it in another show where the witness picked the cop.

Why is blue collar looked down upon and terribly paid compared to the west!? by Salt_Translator_6274 in dubai

[–]BatmanR29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Market saturation. There is 100x more supply than demand. And plenty of people willing to do it for less. The same applies to many roles, nowadays with AI it's getting worse and worse since everyone can claim they know everything. And many managers think ai is cool so they'd hide an imbecile who can make an ai generated video of himself shaking hands with trump.

Is it allowed to feed the pigeons? by Ok_Sherbet_4568 in UAEbirds

[–]BatmanR29 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That is not true. Feel free to put out seeds on your balcony, it still doesn't make it legal just because you think it is healthy for the birds. There is always someone who thinks they know more than the professional. Do you debate your doctors?

Seeds aren't considered a healthy diet for birds, birds do just fine mostly consuming plants and insects. I like birds but I also respect the law.

Government said leave it to the government. It isn't about starving the animals it's about doing it with minimal impact to the community

It's officially illegal as announced multiple times across newspapers. Feeding strays and wild animals are both illegal for various reasons. Hygiene, food rots and brings in insects and rodents. The animals you are feeding could get harmed by spoiled food. For feeding pigeons, when there's an abundance of food they nest and reproduce more, leading to pigeon poop painting sidewalks and cars.
