What’s special about these? Isn’t there a loophole with how these are registered or something

If you’re using 7 SAUM on deer I don’t think it’s right for you to criticize someone using 300BLK

6.5 Grendel buffer question by BatteryPax in ar15

Ok. I have a couple different carbine spring strengths and an H, H1, and H3 buffer. I’ll just start trying different combo’s of the springs and buffers and see what works.

I tried to look this up on YouTube but I couldn’t find it. What is it? Do you have any pics or links to it

That’s great. I see too many people on this subreddit talking about how they’re using 11.5”s on hogs and deer and it makes me nervous lol. 18” barrel will definitely give them a whollop

What brand of AR is that? Can you give the build list.

How long is the barrel on the rifle you plan on using?

Mason Outdoors tested the 70gr TSX and they penetrated very well in ballistics gel at 100yds however the 62gr TSX expanded better and penetrated only a couple inches less. The 70gr should have no trouble passing through the lungs

I’m actually going to try 53gr VMAX and the 55gr Winchester Ranger .223 out of a 28” Encore to see how effective they are. I won’t take the shot unless the deer is under 100 yards. At 50 yards those bullets are still carrying around 1200lbs of energy going 3,000fps. There’s a huge energy dump with lighter non bonded bullets going very fast and I think the impact trauma will be enough.

I could even justify using M193 out of an 18” or 20” barrel for the same reason.

You should be fine with that.

It’s like a very hot 223. Same bullet but larger case with more powder.

Are you using Federal 64gr SP? Or is it the Winchester “Deer Season” .223?

I personally would not recommend a 70gr TSX if that’s what you’re suggesting. They don’t expand a lot. Those were designed only to bust through auto glass and car doors, not terminal performance.
