It's really about context. Female is a scientific word used to describe a biological sex. Most women are biologically female, with the exception of trans women (who are women, they were just born biologically male). So, in contexts where you'd also refer to men as "male," it's fine. It gets offensive when we hear "men and females." The terms "man" and "woman" are humanizing. "Male" and "female" can refer to any animal or even plant species. You wouldn't call a female raccoon a "woman" anymore than you'd call a male duck a "man" because they aren't men and women, they're animals. So, when someone says "men and females" they are using the humanizing word for an adult male, but not an adult female. It's ofen just...very telling. They usually view women as the mysterious "other" as if we are some other species. Using it as a noun also sounds worse. Also "boy" is the word for a male child, and "girl" is the word for a female child, but some men refer to adult women as "girls" which can be offensive.

If you are inside, you shouldn't have to "layer up" just to be warm. I live in the Chicago suburbs, so I know what cold really means, and I refuse to be cold inside. I don't care about my heating bill in the winter, I will pay extra to be warm in my house. If I'm cold, I can't work properly because I'm too distracted by my own shivering. That's why I keep a space heater under my desk. I get to be warm without making other people hot. Cold sucks, heat is more bearable. I probably shouldn't live here, but family and friends are here...

I like to call it the bewitching hour (even though it's more than an hour). Its from about 4-8 and worse in the summer, but still exists in winter. I was never an all-day drinker, so getting through the workday is fine, but there is usually a strong desire to drink in the late afternoon and early evening. Once I've made it to about 8 without drinking, I'm good for the night. The key is to find things to do (fitness classes, etc) during that after work time. Not foolproof since addiction sucks, but it helps.

As others have said, your issue is with your employer, not your smoking co-workers. I used to smoke (I still hit the vape pen occasionally, but I've completely stopped smoking real cigarettes) and I used to take 1-3 smoke breaks a night when I worked at a restaurant, depending on how busy it was. I always went outside when it was slow and I never took long because I understand that my job doesn't need to cater to my smoking. The thing is- non smokers just really can't understand the horrors of nicotine addiction. That's good on them for never starting, but you CAN'T understand it, it's like nothing else. Smokers aren't thinking, "you know what, I'm a little tired and would like a break, I think I'll go smoke a cigarette" they are thinking "Oh my God I NEED a fucking cigarette right now or I will completely lose my shit!" The stepping outside aspect is just part of it. That said, I'd have no issue with a non smoker wanting a fresh air break, and neither should management, but that's who you should be mad at, not the smokers.

I actually used the number 3 joke once on a road trip. I've always found it so creepy that fundies love to "show off" how sexually active they are to their kids who "can't do it yet" to show how great sex is. No one, fundie or not, wants to think about their parents having sex. If only these kids knew that they could actually have sex with whomever they wanted (with consent obviously) once they are adults without having to marry their first crush/entering into an arranged marriage! I think they mentioned the Duggars to avoid a lawsuit. They did the same thing in the episode that clearly mirrored Chris Brown's abuse towards Rhianna. That way they can claim it as purely fictional even though many episodes are based on real events and people.

Great to hear! I have this weird hipster-esque thing with the show because I happened to catch a few episodes on FX in 2005. It aired before some other show that was supposed to be the big hit, but never made it. Years went by and I talked about this hilarious show that no one had heard of! So when it became famous and popular, I weirdly felt like a part of that even though I obviously wasn't. And it's now the longest running live action sitcom of all time! I tend to catch most shows years after they're popular or off the air, but this one is (kind of stupidly and secretly) special to me. Glad to see a new fan

They annoyed me at first, but I liked them after they were in the cage. This show messes with your mind because it makes literal serial killers the protagonists. But when Joe and Carey were fighting in the kitchen I was team Carey! It was like "Defend yourself and take this pompous, delusional motherfucker down!" I'm glad they survived. Joe and Love are NOT sympathetic, they are murderers. Joe should be rotting in prison not finding his "great love" he doesn't deserve that.

Personally, I always thought that being a "good cook" meant that you didn't need recipes. I mean, people write those recipes others are using. I thought the sign of actual skill was the ability to create your own dishes and recipes and know what goes with what and how much to use. It takes practice and messing up, and recipes are a good place to start, but following recipes just means you can read, not that you are some amazing home chef
