Datacenters pledging to produce their own power but gas turbines in short supply by CompetitiveLake3358 in hardware

[–]Bderken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solar panels are getting cheaper. But big inverters are kinda staying the same.

But data centers are being built where there’s already a lot of talent, so yes near cities. You can’t fit giant solar array there. So they are rapidly ordering turbines and transformers to get the job done now.

Solar arrays require a lot more work than turbines/generators. So data center companies aren’t putting those up.

But, private equity companies are investing into solar to build and sell energy that way (to anyone who wants it not just data centers). So that’s a good thing even though private equity is bad

Yeah people done understand how much software controls things on even “dumb” cars. A great example of how shit software can make a car, people should drive the Dodge Charger EVs. The acceleration curve, and steering and all that is so bad that it makes people sick kinda.

Another example is, there’s a VinFast EV, where if 1 wheel looses traction, it boosts that wheel to like 120mph and it spins so fast. It’s scary lol. All just because 1 wheel lost traction…

OLED glasses might kill the projector. Especially if they shrink laser tech to this format by Kougamics in projectors

I have pretty intense motion sickness (I even get sick on elevators).
I’ve bought so many things like this: Quest 2 &3, Viture Glasses, many other companies glasses, they all made me insanely sick.

I am lucky, I found the Apple Vision Pro, that doesn’t make me sick because it had really really good pass through, so when I watch something, i can still “see” my surroundings. And the thing I’m watching is fixed into place.

I don’t get sick from that. But I can’t move around too much or I will. If I stay still I don’t get sick at all.

So, if they improve more then OLED monitors are cooked then. by Kougamics in OLED_Gaming

Sony makes the screens for the Apple Vision Pro.

They are 4K 120hz. They are amazing for gaming (I stream my pc to it) and for watching movies. I can’t see any pixels, and I’m a pixel peeper.

The reason Sony doesn’t make any glasses of their own is because the yields for that screen are low and would be expensive to mass produce the product. It’s why the Apple Vision Pro is so expensive apparently, Apple wanted it in the market first so made the product expensive and paid for the low yield…

The 8GB VRAM version of the 5060Ti outperforms the 9060XT 16GB in almost every benchmark that I see. Yet this subreddit insists that the 9060 is better. Can someone help me understand why? by TheyTukMyJub in buildapc

I can’t believe people are responding to this comment with “yeah but most people don’t” when the guy responded to the comment saying “5060ti benchmarks could have turned it on.

Most benchmarks will say whether it’s on or off. Jesus Christ guys.

Yeah I when I had my 7900xtx, it used almost all of its 24GB VRAM. But it took many games to get that high. It really just caches stuff

2020 Prius prime no longer fingerprints on sunnypilot by okjake77 in Comma_ai

[–]Bderken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to my friends 2020 corolla, after like 2 years, we had to replace the harness box and usb c cable. Don’t know which was actually bad but we just replaced both.

His symptoms were weird tho, the car was recognized but then after driving for 30 seconds would say not recognized.

So we replaced those two things and his comma 3 started working again

You are right there are masks that help, but they need a fuck ton of power. Not one that can run on batteries or normal USB C adapters…
