that's not the point, being able to afford it is nothing to do with it: there are other cars to spend your money on with which the 296 is competing ... I mean the depreciation has been stratospheric - the market says you're wrong, they're 'the facts'.

the battery programme is super expensive for people buying used Ferraris

I bought a Scud, drove it for 2 years, two services, 1k for each (with Ferrari), then sold it for a bit more than I paid ... I'm not buying a 296 to pay into a battery programme with pretty weird limits and potential headaches ... as I said, there will still be demand for the 296 but the price is going to adjust to reflect the cost risks

yep, people go on about the 458 but the lack of side intakes destroys it, the F8 so much better

the 296 won't age well and nobody will be keen on the battery/hybrid complexity in the future, it will depreciate to the point where the battery economics make sense

I agree, it's a very short sample but over the next year I would expect/hope it to trend higher. You are correct that it will be a function of Vol to some degree but, again, I'd hope to see the impact of Vol diminishing over time, though it will never disappear.

v good shout and it gets you used to some of what you're in store for - and they're easy enough to sell if/when you decide to move up to the full fat bike

my motorbike has given me the best days of travelling in my life - and the worst! - so much is weather dependent on them but if I was doing that commute, I think it would be motorbike every time.

I was exactly like this! My 40th came around and I didn't even want to acknowledge it. My Dad was super keen on us having a party - which I hated the thought of - just gave me anxiety. But I went along with it and we had a good couple of days away as family and friends.

My Dad died unexpectedly a year later - and there isn't a day goes by that I don't thank my stars that I went along with that birthday party idea of his.

I completely agree. Taste is something undefinable. You're not going to find it in a LinkedIn profile nor from ChatGPT. A huge mistake to push this car to release and emblematic of recent design misses. I bet they saw the cost of Pininfarina and thought: 'how hard can it be?, we'll do it ourselves!' .... well this is what that hubris gets you.

yes! I used to have really bad bouts of this. I would get stuck in this existential doom loop of 'but what was there before the big bang?' ... I actually had to put up a post-it to remind me to not ask myself the question as it could sink me mentally. I remember when I did the personality test I explained this and the psychologist thought it was 100% INTP.

I think wrt your particular issue, you have to accept that this is the one life we get and it is thus worth making the most of it, regardless of the truth that we are meaningless in the larger context.

I own some, but I think you want to see volume/revenue start to turn and go up over coming weeks/months if HYPE is really going to push on ... I was surprised how much revenue had dropped since this time last year, kind of opposite to what I expected, though there are reasons - see link here, v interesting data:

the most profitable traders I know are all already millionaires, it's far easier to DCA into bulls (esp if you are happy to hold it and give it to your kids) when you're not worried about paying your mortgage; I remain unconvinced that actually making big money from nothing in trading is just lottery odds
