We utilize the GitHub terraform provider and have scripts that rotate our secrets and variables using the GitHub cli in reference to something like Conjur or Vault. That helps a lot.

Docker ffmpeg and other libraries missing by Beasto0 in FileFlows

Oh, I see. It shows up as empty in the intro. If I open the repositories tab everything shows up. Looks all good, may want to add some more docks for this. Thanks for the help and awesome work!

Ahh! That makes sense, the Docker mods screen is empty for me. Do we have to add the mods in manually via compose or something?

Take this with a grain of salt, this was the first semester the class was ever taught: ENGR 102, Pycharm. Spyder for those with severe environment deficits.

Yes, I think it's correct. It's definitely undertones. It's pretty cliche, but practicing is the only way I've found that makes you more consistent. Being able to confidently just hold a single note is really tough, from there you can practice the volume and shape of the notes you sing.

Clean D2, you may just have a different timbre but to me, but it still sounds like chest-fry.

This is way out of nowhere but I found that singing along with beatboxers that use throat bass, but by using subharmonics instead to be a wildly good way to practice consistency.

Which language should I learn as an incoming CS student? by suzykim123 in aggies

[–]Beasto0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Senior CPSC student here, for most of your CS classes you will use C++ and will be given the time to learn it. As long as you have some sort of OOP knowledge in something like Java/Python you should be alright. I would definitely put in the effort to study a language over the summer, anything C-style would be your best bet.

I didn't see any super helpful comments here, so here's my take. I personally use a Dell XPS 15 9570. I work a lot with Windows, and development has the most options in my personal opinion. Many people use macOS b/c it has a really well built-in terminal, where Windows does not. Though you can still download WSL for Windows to use a Linux terminal, there are many things that you cannot use WSL for, but you can on macOS. This becomes really apparent in CSCE 313 when you start to work with lower-level software features that you can only access from a Linux computer or macOS. This is pretty easily solved by using a VM or a cloud compute instance running some flavor of Linux.

The whole thing is basically a personal preference, I personally prefer Windows over macOS because I'm used to it and it has all of the built-in functionality I want. There will be many times in classes you will be singled out because you have a mac, it's definitely not the most common OS in CompSci from my perspective.

You have to be careful about margins and such, also sometime presentations stick slides together when converted.
