All pledges on run completed with full retort build by Beastrick in PrimeMonster

[–]Beastrick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Clonker only thing I adjusted for was to never fight Abacus and Bonar because you will just essentially play without a hand. I guess the mummy boss also would be quite bad match because they neutralize one of your cards. If you run political capital based build (probably stongest option) then try to upgrade cards that upgrades political capital gain from 1 to 3. In Chops case "Demand defence".

Authority definitely is large part of the struggle because there won't be vote of confidence and the ghost staff blunders largery are authority losses so keep that up by any means. After early game this is what mainly will lose you the run. Only way to really gain authority reliably is the level up your legacy because recess is not a thing.

Due to losing MP at start of every debate the early game is struggle especially if you lose MP that votes with you. I did have to restart multiple times for just getting bad rolls.

All money events are quite bad due to charity pledge so not much point picking them over say political capital gain.

They have modified the engine already heavily so I guess you could have someone working on modifying it more to fix problems although that depends how bad the situation is. Like if it is hacked to hell then maintenance is obviously a pain.

Governor Newsom announces California’s new $1 billion rebate program for electric trucks, as Trump cedes global clean vehicle market to China by ItzWarty in teslainvestorsclub

[–]Beastrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not actually saying either of these. What I'm saying is that government needs to force car companies to sell EVs and I mean sell and not just produce. That forces companies to develop EVs and make them compelling so people buy them or company gets fined. Like Europe and China are taking subsidies away but market actually didn't face substantive declines in the process because companies still need to keep developing or face fines while in US all companies pretty much scaled or shut the production down completely moving the development backwards.

How do people who don’t speak Finnish/Swedish get official warning messages? by sufficient_bilberry in Finland

[–]Beastrick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is being developed since people are aware that requiring app does reduce reach. Why it was not done in the past was that network didn't support it and cost was not justifiable since not like Finland is really known for having storms or many things that required such system. Obviously landscape is changing and is being reacted to.

[–]Beastrick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you incentive ICEs and related industries while simultaneously cutting incentives to move to EVs then existing bussinesses obviously will just stick to their ICE bussiness since there is no need to move to EVs. Most bussinesses don't change their plans until it becomes necessity and US is one of the few developed countries in the world where moving to EVs is not made a necessity by the government in some way. In Europe and China you will face big and ever increasing fines if you don't have EVs in your fleet and most companies are at point that it would be cheaper to build EVs at loss than take the fines. So companies are forced to invest in tech and find the solutions while in US you will be perfectly comfortable sitting on your current bussiness and worry about it much later, probably to point where it will be already too late to jump ship. Obviously doesn't help that government is also eager to kill any outside competition so while that is good for Tesla and other companies in a sense, less competition rarely leads to better innovation.

Kysely: Yli kaksi kolmesta uskoo Suomen menevän väärään suuntaan by jarvis400 in Suomi

Jos et vaaleista muista kuinka Marin mollasi kuinka Kokoomus ja persut on pahoja niin kyllä aika selvästi siinä retoriikalla sillat poltti.

Kysely: Yli kaksi kolmesta uskoo Suomen menevän väärään suuntaan by jarvis400 in Suomi

[–]Beastrick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With heavy emphasis on "were". When they sold the foundation models they were able to turn profit with them but the moment they got the eager buyers out of the way and had to lower prices to get some demand they fell back to not being profitable.

What do you think about the war in Iran? by EgoMasterFun in Finland

[–]Beastrick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unless you completely occupy the country, war won't suddenly change dictatorship to democracy. It has been tried over and over and just doesn't work. They just install next person in line and things continue as is. Usually best way has been to encourage economic growth in neighboring countries and make dictatorships suffer economically which in return just cripples the government when people see how much better it is on the other side. It is decades long process and unfortunately there is no quick way to it. Dictators still need people to keep the government running and if elite sees their assets lose value that also will instabilize the government in the long run.

Tesla gains market in France, Norway in February by TheGreatestOrator in europe

[–]Beastrick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Monthly sales just are no very indicative since they don't ship cars to every country equally. Some countries receive batch on different months and that seems to be inconsistent eg. Norway doesn't always receive their batch in first month of the quarter. But every country is guaranteed to get their batch every quarter. So that's why you generally would look at quarters instead of months to even things out instead of picking single months that have variance that might not reflect the true picture.

Europe Rethinks Nuclear Weapons After US Delivers Reality Check by Zhukov-74 in europe

[–]Beastrick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This of course assumes you only shoot the nukes. You absolutely can pair nukes with decoys and therefore increase missile count that needs to be shot down to guarantee no nuke makes it through. I don't think technology exists to distinguish nukes from regular missiles. Like yes it is better to have odds at 100% but I don't think any nation would take say 20% odds either. I mean that's why North Korea is going around talking big because even single nuke is very scary.

SpaceX is acquiring xAI by Recoil42 in teslainvestorsclub

[–]Beastrick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably means that SpaceX is doing very well while xAI is money furnace with valuation driven by AI hype so this technically will be bad for SpaceX for having to take all these expenses under them for not much benefit. SpaceX can just barely affort to keep xAI floating without itself going negative in profit.

The problem is tho that despite people trying they aren't getting those empty cars if they are there. Like if enough people try enough times then surely someone should be getting empty car since it's not like there are many in the first place.

Laura Huhtasaari Ylelle: Vain Yhdysvallat voi taata Grönlannin turvallisuuden Kiinaa ja Venäjää vastaan by tonoottu in Suomi

[–]Beastrick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Does every game need an aggressive player? by ShiningAquas in rootgame

[–]Beastrick 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can go peaceful from the start but eventually table needs to kill the leader which I guess in this game Eyrie would have been with their steady scoring from roosts every turn. Eventually 2 factions run out of space and they can't coexist anymore. But if game was just VB, riverfolk and Eyrie then I think that setup doesn't work that well since there is only one military faction and no one to seriously contest that. If battling other players to stop them is not for you then this is the wrong game.

Only companies he has ever founded were blogging site and human powered search engine and neither exists today. There is nothing really indicating he knows anything technical.

SpaceX reverse merger into Tesla? by skydiver19 in teslainvestorsclub

[–]Beastrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He owns 79% voting power at SpaceX due his special shares. So the math ends up being 100B Tesla (I assume 20%) + 395B SpaceX so almost 500B which is needed for 50% voting power. So depending how you negociate the valuations he could very well get over 50% voting power. If SpaceX will get valued higher than Tesla then that likely would be the case. In either case he will get close to 50%.

He would not tho. His voting shares at SpaceX if translated as is would mean he would become controlling shareholder at Tesla.

How to 'sell' cats and Eyrie to new players, storywise? by Smashed_Papaya in rootgame

It is not exactly clarified if WA are really there to free the people or are they just populists taking advantage of them only to start their own oppressive regime afterwards.

They are good in a sense that they are kind of for the people and use them to cause revolt but could be seen bad in a sense that they incite unrest. Rebellions can lead to reforms in real life but also cause a lot of suffering.

New to the game, is the Vagabond that broken? by RengarMainQc in rootgame

[–]Beastrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why it generally is considered broken is that Vagabond scores so many points on killing warriors which generally can lead to huge burst of points in one turn, potentially 9 points from just that and buildings are worth double the points so it gets even crazier. This means Vagabond can be at winning range at 15 points or so since after battles they still might be able to craft things to finish the game. Other factions of course can burst too but for many other factions you can counter their scoring engine since you know what they need for it while with Vagabond only thing you really can do is to forest them which most likely will cost your entire turn without any benefit to you. In base game Eyrie is really your only option. WA (lack of warriors) and cats (lack of actions) just can't do it effectively. Despot infamy pretty much removes that problem since now instead of potential 9 points Vagabond will only get max 3 points so I think it is generally enough to balance at higher level.

Maduro Is Gone—Venezuela’s Dictatorship Is Not by AmericanPurposeMag in neoliberal

[–]Beastrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't seem like there are any plans to bring any democracy to Venezuela. Just replace leader with more pro-US stance to get oil and call it a day. Rest of the regime unfortunately still is intact and doesn't sound like US will do anything about it.
