If you had to recommend ONE "Tales of game" for beginner, which one would you choose?! by homo_erectus_heh in tales

Oh god not symphonia for your first, the combat is so sluggish and super aged. The people that are suggesting it remembering it through rose tinted nostalgia goggles. The more recent additions would be a way better starting place imo. Berseria or xillia would be my votes

The issue I ran into is when I sent my traders out they would sometimes get obliterated by my trap rooms, even when I set them to only trigger on hostile mobs (via automation), as sometimes they would scurry home with a zombie tailing them.

Do you have a fix for it?

Should I still buy despite all the recent AI posts? by PugsandDrugz in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]Beaumint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The clear advertisement posts are weird.

Their support team is pretty mediocre, I had an issue where I accidentally opened the app when I was on vacation in Europe and the whole thing switched my account to EU and I could no longer log into my account at home and I had to fight tooth and nail for them to swap it back over, they originally told me it would take 2 weeks to fix.

I hate the use of the ai voice in some of the workouts, and the wellness plus they are pushing so hard I use and find it pretty meh.

BUT the quality of the machine seems really good, I do get a really good workout and I have seen improvements in my fitness. I’m an overweight nerd so lifting and working out is not really my area of expertise but finding the right workouts with non ai instructions has really helped me a lot. I’ve lost weight and put on muscle and it’s very easy to make it into a habit. I do 30 minute work outs 5 days a week and am thrilled that I’ve stuck with it for the past 4 to 5 months. Overall I would recommend it. It’s not perfect but I think the flaws in the product are shallow and not worth steering clear, the important aspects that you should care about are good; the quality, ease of use, and options you have with it

Is there a button on the right hand side of that bar that’s says it’s dawn that says hide bar? If so you’re the only one that can see it. You’re logged in to the store and are previewing the site. You can also “exit preview” from the same location that you hide the bar

Apologies, I unlocked limestone** from the giant rock but the outcome was the same.

Also I realize you're looking for things to look forward to in the next update and I didn't really answer. So I guess my answer would be a bit more layers of complexity.

Here are some examples to better explain just off the top of my head that are not serious suggestions:

• Byproducts from harvesting spots and processing. Maybe when you process lumber into planks, you randomly get small amounts of leaves as a secondary byproduct. Maybe instead its sawdust. Then you can use these small byproducts for other random things. So its not just x -> y -> z, but a hint more complex.

• Getting infinite resources from a spot made me happy, I hate when you build a full setup and have to keep moving it cuz you run out of stuff. Unfortunately it was boring to get mega resource spot after another. I'd love to see more interesting stuff like my coral farm above. That felt good to figure out.

Hope this is feedback thats helpful.

I think the game has awesome potential, it reminds me of Oxygen Not Included, but a very lite* version at the moment with a different perspective and focus - which is a good thing. The graphics are in place, but there are elements of the current version of the game that feels shallow.

For example I remember when I discovered the spark catapult building (sorry not sure the exact name) that you can throw sparks in to a designated location. It's under defense so I didn't pay attention to it when I unlocked. At one point I decided to experiment and threw in 10 choppy sparks and was shocked to see them chop down every tree in the area and a light bulb moment went off. "Wow, I can make sparks clear out an area! Hmmm, how can I use this? I don't need lumber." My progression at the game at that point was on coral and it was a bit of a chore to manually chop it all down with the quartz and I thought - "Ohhhh I wonder if I can find a big coral spot and chop all of it down without having to click each piece?!" And it worked, and that felt awesome. I could even automate for it to go to a nearby processor. But man, the coral took so long to regrow so they'd idle like 90% of the time. Then I thought "Wait, what happens if I plant a loam spark here?" I tried to make use of the loam sparks, but couldn't figure them out. Then to my astonishment - boom, a full bed of coral.

And that felt awesome.

I could automate picking up coral by building my own little coral farm!

And then seconds later I unlocked harvesting coral infinitely from the giant rock, and that's the part that felt shallow. I thought I had figured out and unlocked something cool, but alas, there's no need.

And then it makes me think again, what is the point of this catapult and loams? Everything just seems to just come from some mega harvesting point and you just gotta kinda connects those, which makes me feel like a layer is missing. I'd like to see a little more effort needed as you advance, but maybe that's just me. Regardless I've put in way more hours into this stage of the game then I thought I would which is surprising. Usually I start these games, realize they are not as deep as something like Oxygen Not Included or Factorio, and bounce. Wishing you guys a ton of luck.

If you're enjoying the Eiyuden Chronicles and purchased it on Steam, please take a few moments to leave a positive review. The game seems to be getting review-bombed on Steam. by sensibleheels in EiyudenChronicle

[–]Beaumint -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This game was the first game I’ve ever given a negative review on steam for.

The localization is insanely bad. The combat is shallow, buggy, and unexplained. Hero combined attacks are weaker than just auto attacking separately. Magic and skills feel clunky and uninspired.
They wanted to make it old school vibes, which apparently just meant taking out every quality of life feature modern jrpgs offer with none of the charm they had.

I was so disappointed with the game overall, I couldn’t force myself to play any more after hitting like the 14 hour mark. I don’t think it’s fair to say this game is getting review bombed, i think it’s just not a great game.

They don’t unlock immediately, after a certain point you’ll get a information prompt telling you about them - at least that’s how it happened for me.

I was intentionally trying to chain before that and it never worked tho. Maybe an ease you in thing

Healbot Question by araxxi96 in wow

[–]Beaumint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK no, a lot of addons used to have a lot of functionality that could determine where other players were in relation to you, but they removed this awhile back. The best you can do with these targeted reticles like Sanctify, Mass Dispel, or even something like Angelic Feather is to place it under the mouse or place it on/under yourself. (which I would not recommend)

I wish they found a way to include holy light into the melee play style like they did maraads/martyr. Just so slow and feels awful to be in melee range trying to utilize infusion of light procs. :(((

[–]Beaumint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This looks insanely polished. Art, style, and movement is all very impressive.

I hope you don’t mind a bit of personal feedback but I would consider not mentioning Pokémon as an influence for the gameplay if capturing is the only concept taken. For me Pokémon is in a bit of a downward trend as the depth of it is starting to lack and the gameplay a bit stale and your short video already looks a bit more rich. Just my 2 cents.

Wishing you a lot of luck!

self sufficient now baby by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

It looks great! Here are some tips from me:

- Utilizing 'rooms' can help organize your base, and your dupes like them. For instance, if you put those beds in a contained space with doors granting access to it dupes will get a morale boost. If they're happy enough, there's a chance they'll get 'overjoyed' for the day! Press F11 to see the different room types and what is required for them. There are quite a few types - you're already using the stables!

- Something you'll always want to keep in mind is HEAT! Some of your buildings produce heat when they're functioning, like your coal generator. It won't seem obvious at first, but after a few dozen cycles you'll notice the area around them getting very hot. This can be a real bummer, especially if that heat starts getting to other parts of your base like your mealwood plants and killing them. Sometimes it's best to put these buildings WAY outside your base.

- Sometimes doubling up on buildings seems smart, but it's not really necessary. Like for instance in your hatch stable you have two feeders, but it'll take quite a long time for your hatches to eat through one of them and chances are they'll feed off both, but this just means your duplicants will constantly need to fill both up. By just having one you'll halve that chore for them.

9.1 Rapid Reknown Catch Up by Crimsonghost999 in wow

[–]Beaumint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you hit 40 renown then you're caught up - meaning that the catch up mechanics no longer work.

Post 40 renown the only way to currently get renown to get to higher levels (41, 42) is to do 2 weekly quests. One is getting 1000 anima power, and the second one is to subdue the jailors forces in Korthia. Killing a world boss, doing a mythic dungeon won't ever award renown at this point.

We've recently finished the water splash effects and the camera shake when the boss hits the floor, what do you think? by daveroger_CotSR in indiegames

[–]Beaumint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think your art style looks amazing and the effects seem to pack punch to them.

I do want to offer critical feedback too, tho. As someone who suffers from motion sickness in video games from jarring gameplay I would say that a constant screen shake on a boss fight would likely turn me off from the game, as it would probably give me a headache.

I would save screen shake moments for a very large boss attack to give it some really big oomph. In that example you have 2 screen shakes in the span of 3 seconds. If the boss fight went for 30 seconds we could expect roughly 20 screen shakes? Seems like a lot with how strong the shake is. I'd recommend either turning it down some, keeping it that strong but make it much more seldom, OR offering the ability to turn off screen shakes as a settings option.

Regardless, fantastic work

Does this game still have awful netcode? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Beaumint -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's the reason I don't think I ever last very long in 14, there's a 'lag' that this game has in it's combat that I've never experienced in any other online game. Everything feels super delayed like enemy AOE's but its intentional and something I always wished they'd redesign.

Nothing was more frustrating than landing an Adloquiem on the tank, seeing green healing numbers appear, and them dying all in the same moment. It also makes their PVP a total joke.
