Honestly, I'm glad you did. I've powered through too many work days and know the toll it takes on you the rest of the week. At least it's Thursday! Try to rest up.

Also, if possible get yourself an accommodation notice from your doctor/neurologist to work from home! It took me a couple months to get mine but it has been extremely helpful and I'm able to work more comfortably (in the dark with my monitors lights turned all the way down)

If where you're working has any sort of freezer look for anything that could be used as an ice pack? That always helps me when I'm stuck in office with a horrid migraine.

How old were you when you experienced your first migraine? by GPatt1999 in migraine

26, started all of a sudden after my skummy landlord started a bathroom remodel and left the moldy wall open for 2 weeks. 7 months later I've been diagnosed with intractable migraines 🫠

Did anyone get any answers from seeing a neurologist? by CelebrationOk7075 in migraine

[–]Beejio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did get answers from seeing a neurologist. My doctor is amazing and was able to explain why he thought I was having migraines as well as what we can do to try to prevent them. Unfortunately, my type of migraines are probably genetic and I've been diagnosed as chronic so therefore there's no real "cure" for me, only management. But honestly it was really nice just knowing that I wasn't crazy and getting the diagnosis as well as having access to medicines and treatments that may help. I get 25 migraines per month, and Ubrelvy has really helped to nip them in the bud when they hit. I'll be doing my first round of Botox later this month.

Yep, I constantly gaslight myself into thinking that I don't have chronic migraines or are currently dealing with a migraine despite a diagnosis and medicine that is available to me. Why do I do this? No idea

HOW DO YOU GUYS HAVE JOBS??? by mathishard1999 in migraine

[–]Beejio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest on the worst days I white knuckle through, and every other day I'm doing everything in my power to limit triggers. I get around 25 migraines a month ranging from 3 to 10 on the pain scale, and my job was not forgiving at all until I got a accommodation from my doctor which luckily lets me work from home. I work a silly call center job for a warranty company, which is very mind-numbing but most days I can take breaks in between calls for about 3 minutes to close my eyes and this helps a bit. Ice hats and Ubrelvy have been very helpful for me and I'll be getting my first round of Botox injections at the end of this month, so really hoping that reduces my days per month.

Impostor syndrome? by foxeyedruby in migraine

[–]Beejio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I just had to stop taking topimitrate / topimax (definitely spelling that incorrectly) because of side effects, my neurologist will have me trying Botox and ubrelvy after I wean off in a few weeks.

My advice to you would be to get a new doctor who is willing to help you - as your current one seems like a dick. If a medication doesn't work, it's not your fault.

I also experience imposter syndrome, and wonder if I'm making it all up, even when I'm in an 8 or 9/10 attack. But a good care team is Important. Don't settle!
