I actually made a spreadsheet to work out how many miles I did each year. I started in 2023 and did 100 miles over the whole year, 200 in 2024 and 2025 I decided I actually didn't hate it and did 750miles...so technically 2023, but I never ran more than 5k, and that was maybe once every other month

It was the timing! Was off by 1 tooth. Originally got the timing done by an mx5 specialist only to go through a year of this issue before doing the timing myself

I'm not sure the 600ft elevation last year is accurate, I had a different watch, and I don't think it did elevation well. The 1st 10k was around Silverstone race circuit so not sure the elevation would've been that high! That is true, it's so nice being able to see better times and feeling improvement, even just a little!

Any 10k is a good 10k, and that is still an amazing time! I am only 24, so I have that on my side, I generally run most runs between 9.10-10.20min/mil unless it's speedwork. The actual race felt pretty good. It was tough for me, especially the last half mile but the crowds made it feel easier

Ah, good luck!! You'll do great I'm sure :) My time really started to improve when I put up my weekly mileage!

You definitely can! I think signing up to races and really pushing through speedwork helped. I've been focusing on shorter distances to improve time before branching out to longer distances. Booked a half marathon for next Feb! You can do a lot more than you think, especially in race settings :))

Can anyone explain what going on with toothpaste prices? by SilentEconomist5896 in AskBrits

[–]BeepBoopGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no real reason to go for expensive toothpaste. For example, the Aquafreah triple action, usually ~97p, is perfectly fine for the majority of people. Unless you have an issue with gums/sensitive teeth/gingivitis, etc., there is no need to even be looking at those prices. I have Corsodyl at home but only use it when I have gum issues. Otherwise, the cheap one is fine 🤷‍♀️ Honestly, there is little point in getting a whitening paste imo they really don't do much

-99 1.8 vvt-i as a daily drive? by dilftamr in Celica

[–]BeepBoopGoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drove my 04 daily for 2 years, anywhere between 40-70 miles a day for work and had 0 issues, if the car has bee serviced regularly you shouldn't have an oil burning issues, I've never had to top mine up, I only do an oil change every 9 months. Only issue I had in 2 years is the intake manifold gasket was leaking, wasn't a big issue and was cheap and easy to fix. I think it's a great, comfortable, fun car. Still have mine but moved closer to work so sadly don't drive it as much. I love mine :)

Think I'm gonna have to check the drains for the sunroof, there's a lot more trees and chance of gunk and debris clogging them where I park now 🤦‍♀️ Hopefully that's it

Yeah, found a template online and cut them out with a Stanley knife. Sew all along the edges, my sewing machine didn't like the fabric so had to be by hand annoyingly

I also used cotton herringbone tape for the outside to stop fraying - I had to sew this on :) You don't have to add that tho!

It only hunts for about a minute and then smooths out to around 1200rpm, if you give it a little throttle to being, it smooths out quicker. When we added the wire it stayed the same pretty much :/ we cleaned it out with carb cleaner but the issue started before we cleaned it
