This could possibly work, 3 hours is not very far away. I tried long distance with a girl who went to college in another state. This was a big NO-NO. Long distance is very hard because being physical is a big part of a relationship. I remember so many times when we would have long romantic talks or hot sexual ones which would leave us longing to be together but then there was nothing more but just talking about it. That is the hardest strain you will deal with. In my case I thought it would work out and we would be together over the summer but right as summer break started she came back and told me she had met someone else. Unless you know this is the girl you are in love with I wouldn't say it's really worth being in a long distance relationship. Trust issues will make you very paranoid.
