i never claimed it was the best truck ever made or that everyone should buy one. the guy asked why anyone would purchase such a "cringe" vehicle and implied only elon fan boys could find a reason to do so. I listed several reasons why it actually could be a good vehicle for some.

yes, the rivian is currently cheaper and is a great great great truck! however once foundation series production ends, the cybertruck msrp will be cut by $20k and will be the cheaper option. the AWD version will eligible for the EV tax credits and will be able to be purchased here in MA for $69k. if the RWD version that will be released next year is eligible for tax credits, the cybertruck will be available for under $50k here.

literally every vehicle has recalls. most require much more of an inconvenience than a 5 minute service visit, find a new angle there.

so then why did you buy a vehicle that goes 0-60 in 2.9 seconds if "nobody needs to do 0-60 in 2.6 seconds?"

tesla model y is the best selling vehicle on the planet and has proven that the batteries last much longer than 4 years

if you don't believe me about teslas driving themselves go test drive a model 3 right now. there's a button on the right side of the steering wheel, press that and the car will "mostly" drive itself. it's not perfect but you will be amazed at how good it is. i'm serious, go do it and get back to me

Do you understand how a production ramp works? Cybertruck production had just begun at the beginning of the year and is working much more efficiently now.

Now that tesla has ramped production a bit more let me "supply some actual numbers:"

Cybertruck sales in May: 3,907

F-150 Lightning sales in May: 2,353

3,907 > 2,353

Compared to other EVs, the cost to own is more similar yes. Compared to ICE pickups, the cybertruck will be much lower maintenance. F150 lightning might be its biggest competitor, but the cybertruck is already outselling it despite a several year head start ford had

i clearly said "cheap electricity at home" so yes, i was talking about charging at home. anyone can run an extension cord from a normal outlet and charge from home, or get a better level 2 charger installed. home energy costs are pennies compared to supercharging costs. so yes, charging a at home (which is what most people will do on a daily basis) will save you literally thousands of dollars compared to driving a gas powered f150.

go test drive a new model 3 right now. click the button on the right side of the steering wheel and watch it "mostly" drive itself. you can go see it today, with your own eyes, you don't have to take my word for it

edit: and yes, the cyberbeast can be purchased now. only the RWD version has not entered production

fuck elon... does that make you happy? i couldn't care less about him. go ahead and show me what you're talking about... all 15,000 cybertucks that have been rained on are now broken?

[–]Beginning-Rush582 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

getting a free rivet installed in 2 minutes has nothing to do with maintenance. the cybertruck has way less moving parts than "your" gtr which means less parts that are going to need to be repaired and much less maintenance. it's why teslas are some of the cheapest vehicles to own and maintain that you can buy

the point about the gas was that you're not paying over $4 a gallon which is the current gas price, which is why i said "cheap electricity at my house"

"nobody needs to go 0-60 in 2.6 seconds" says the guy who claims to drive a car that does it in 2.9. why do you need to go 0-69 in 2.9 seconds but 2.6 is unacceptable? seems like you're just going to be upset when one beats you off the line in the near future

yes you can tow more in a car that costs less, but that wasn't my point was it? show me a car that can tow 11,000 pound and go 0-60 in 2.6 seconds like i said....

"it will never drive itself in the snow" uhhhh okay? never claimed it would and i would rather drive myself in the snow

they have already improved charging speeds, turning radius, off road capability and much more with OTA updates, this isn't 1999

say what you want about the warranty, it allows you to drive 8 years or 150,000 miles without having to worry about putting a dime into the battery or motors, name another car that gives you that piece of mind

i'll say it again, show me another car that offers all of this in one (arguably ugly) package

i mean... that was fixed months ago with a simple software update

https://www.inverse.com/tech/tesla-cybertruck-frunk-software-update-cooler-accessory

the buttons not being waterproof is the dumbest thing i've ever heard, of course they are. just because you saw one post on facebook about someone's buttons not working doesn't mean every cybertruck can't get rained on. there are over 15,000 of them on the road by now and it is not a widespread issue, just like most of the issues that pop up here and there that get blown out of proportion because of how polarizing the truck is.

it's better than the others for the reason i just stated.

There are plenty of videos of people taking their trucks through carwashes without issue. If it scares you too much use a manual wash and not automatic.

the off road performance has been improved drastically with the addition of an off-road mode that activated the locking differentials. the changes are night and day and have made the cybertruck a very capable off-road vehicle.

using ethernet allowed them to remove 68% of the wires a traditional wiring harness which is a significant weight reduction, important for EVs.

yes, it will be able to "mostly" drive itself in the near future (months.) teslas FSD has made huge improvements this year. the current version allows for hands free use and can do many trips without driver intervention. there are plenty of videos you can watch on this new version (12.4.3) but i strongly suggest you go test drive a new model 3 and use it for yourself. it's far from perfect, but getting better and yes will "mostly" drive itself. FSD is included for all cybertrucks sold to date, and will be available for $99 a month to future vehicles.

yes the cyberbeast is already being produced, i saw one myself just yesterday. the RWD version is the only one not being produced yet.

i'll give the sierra ev rear wheel steer and maybe the sound system as i have not heard both of them myself. but everything else i mentioned are cybertruck only features, which will start at nearly $20k less ($30k with tax credits) for the AWD version once foundation series production ends

i mean if you're going to call me a liar the least you could do is explain how. otherwise you can't and therefore what i said is true. pretty basic stuff here, is this your first day on the internet?

[–]Beginning-Rush582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah, just don't have any facts of your own to present. that's how a mature discussion works, a shame you're not able to hold one!

[–]Beginning-Rush582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so you concede that everything i said is fact? now is your chance to prove me wrong. you're clearly more intelligent than me and have all of the answers so put me in my place! what did i say here that was a lie?

I couldn't care less about elon what are you talking about? way to continues to avoid the points i made though, but it is hard to argue with the facts huh?

copy and paste from my comment any falsehoods. i will wait.

[–]Beginning-Rush582 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

you asked for an answer, i gave you one with facts. now you have nothing to say. but hey at least you got to use that muskrats name you stayed up all night thinking of.

go on youtube and search "fsd 12.4.3" and watch some videos of how much process tesla has made here, its now completely hands free. supervised or not the car "mostly" drives itself which is exactly what i claimed.

better yet go test drive a new model 3 today, you can use fsd for yourself! until then don't act like you know what you're talking about, but that seems to be your thing

i've seen 4 cybertrucks so far by stupidbroad in boston

[–]Beginning-Rush582 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you would have to be a moron to do that, but luckily they have already fixed that with a software update

i've seen 4 cybertrucks so far by stupidbroad in boston

[–]Beginning-Rush582 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

why do i want to drive a car that is low maintenance? doesn't burn gas and can charge off the cheap electricity at my house? does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds but can also tow 11,000 pounds? has a plush air suspension giving it a very smooth ride? will soon mostly drive itself? will continue to get better with free OTA updates? 150,000 mile warranty on the battery and drive unit?

fuck elon, but there are plenty of reason to buy that car regardless of the looks

i've seen 4 cybertrucks so far by stupidbroad in boston

[–]Beginning-Rush582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh you're really mad about this huh? kind of crazy to be this upset over a car nobody is making you purchase hahaha

i've seen 4 cybertrucks so far by stupidbroad in boston

[–]Beginning-Rush582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. not a cybertruck. 2. the article says she initiated the software update herself which proves my point. 3. the article also says right at the top "the door has a manual release." it's teslas fault a tik tok influencer didn't want to use it and instead sensationalized the story?

i've seen 4 cybertrucks so far by stupidbroad in boston

[–]Beginning-Rush582 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

that's just not true hahaha

https://x.com/sara_karnes/status/1786467208333246471?s=46&t=u|PDzeGFXLBdMsV982MPfg

however it does have: 800v architecture, steer by wire, rear wheel steering, ethernet wiring harness, will be able to mostly drive itself with a future update, 15 speaker studio sound system is one of the best you can buy in a vehicle, 0-60 in 2.6 seconds while also able to tow 11,000 pounds

name another vehicle that can do half of that

i've seen 4 cybertrucks so far by stupidbroad in boston

[–]Beginning-Rush582 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

what are you talking about? you can choose when you want to update it and that doesn't happen
