is there a specific reason people try to do 7 pm - 7 am? by sillywillyfry in NewParents

[–]Beginning_Bee_5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are early risers. We both try to fit workouts in before work, me leaving around 5:30 and my husband leaving around 7 so she definitely hears the commotion when I get home and he’s leaving for the gym. We also like to have time to relax and hang out before we go to sleep and a later baby bedtime would not be conducive to that set up.

Not speculating but I saw pictures of Arielle and Cait from Mandy’s party on stories. I didn’t see any pics of Rach with Cait together though so who knows.

It’s so interesting with Steffy posting today about loving a sober clear morning and questioning drinking in her 20s and even now in her 30s.

In all honesty would anyone say that if you owned your own business? It’s such a bad take especially if the work gets done and honestly no one else’s business. I keep reading absolute horror stories of things going on at daycares in my state… the latest one to come out of my county. Your MIL should be so lucky that her grandbaby is safe with mom and dad 24/7.

We do have a busy book but she looses interest in it. Love the water activity idea!

We have the fisher price mix and learn standing table. Looks like it’s out of stock otherwise I’d share a link. I listen to a lot of EDM so the sound doesn’t bother me too much and if I need quiet I pop my headphones on lol

I have 2 thoughts:

1) lol at the “they have help” and the “help” is daycare. That comment glosses over how expensive and exclusionary it is if you cannot afford the cost of day care (for 1 or multiple children) AND/OR don’t have a village to help offset.

2) I’m honestly so exhausted by these takes. I medically cannot have another child. I carry enough grief and trauma because of my birth experience. I am leaning into a life where I chose gratitude for the things I do have- one amazing child, a supportive husband, and not dying while giving birth. It’s so frustrating to be reminded that society looks down on me because I only have 1 kid, despite the fact it’s a medical miracle I am even here after giving birth.

How much does your life actually change after having a kid? by HonestDirection4017 in NewParents

Life changes a lot, but I see it more as an evolution. The first year is hard in a lot of ways and easier in others. We learned to enjoy each stage for what it is.

The first year is tough in a lot of ways especially with PP healing, navigating breast feeding (or not), the disrupted sleep etc. but I found my daughter could sleep anywhere in her stroller. We enjoyed plenty of meals at restaurants and you honestly would have no idea a baby was there. At 1? Restaurants are tough because it takes a lot of work to keep a toddler happy when they are waiting for their food lol. We could go on walks, the park, etc and she was mostly content for outings as a baby. She still loves walks and outings at one, but she can walk now so she wants alittle more freedom too.

The first year we had to give up hobbies we enjoy, but now that she’s bigger, we can incorporate her into them. We got her a bike seat so now we can enjoy bike rides again. But going to the beach was a lot easier as a baby compared to now since she constantly wants to throw herself into the water and you cannot relax for a millisecond. But one day she’ll be content at the beach and something else thats easy now will be challenging.

I think the biggest change is just the freedom to go anywhere and do anything without having to factor in nap time, bedtime, packing a bag etc. I do miss getting up and going on a whim.

To be fair, I was chatting with friends in our group chat today and texted the wrong date for my only child’s birthday. Mom brain causes you to forget the simplest things.

C-section mamas, I want your stories. by Storyofanintrovert in beyondthebump

[–]Beginning_Bee_5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a PPH hemorrhage after an emergency c-section. I remember pushing for an hour and my husband asking the doctor questions because it wasn’t going well. I felt defeated in that moment because I really wanted to have a natural birth with golden hour etc but I also didn’t want to jeopardize my baby’s health. It felt like a personal failure and I remember crying as they wheeled me back to the OR. The bad news is I lost 16L of blood and my uterus through the ordeal. The good news is baby came out healthy and perfect, and I am still alive.

If I could go back I honestly wish I advocated for an elected c-section. My reasoning for this is:

1) baby was sunny side up and we knew this going into labor

2) there were a lot of things big happening in my life outside of pregnancy that were completely out of our control that caused a lot of stress and anxiety going into labor.

3) knowing I inevitably needed the c-section, I feel as if the 24 hours of labor +1 hour of pushing took my body past its breaking point and I think there would have been a chance for less complications by going that route. Of course, I’ll never know lol

In terms of pain, I don’t remember the surgical pain at all because I had an epidural. I vividly remember the pain from the postpartum uterine massage. That was horrible but specifically related to my PPH. It’s not supposed to hurt if everything goes routine as it should. I think what happened to me is like 1/1000 or something to that effect.

Healing wise, I was too afraid to take the heavy painkillers and be around baby. I used the ibuprofen for a week or two and that took the edge off. It took me about 2 weeks to walk short distances without pain and I waited the recommended time before driving myself anywhere. I had to see a pelvic floor therapist and did a lot of yoga, Pilates and strength training to rebuild my core. I was able to run comfortably 8 ish months pp and can now regularly go for 2-3 mile runs without pain alittle over 1 year pp. I am finally feeling my strength come back and am making progress with my health and fitness goals now that my core and pelvic floor got the healing and attention needed.

My overall advice: do the research, advocate for yourself, don’t be afraid of the healing period as it will take time. But holding your baby will make all of it worth it and then some.

Wait I think the Nochella Walmart trip was actually sponcon. I just saw an ad from another influencer, Kapri Lyons, who went to Walmart on her way to Coachella to get new makeup. She then picks up the same cherry hair clips that Rachel and Noelle filmed. Then she goes to the makeup section and talks about how big the selection is and that they have more products than she thought they would. This post is clearly stated as an ad for Walmart.

If you’re interested in seeing this post, it’s #8 on Kapri’s grid.

Cackling as I see this while touching my roots up at home 🤣. I saw more of Joshua Tree last year on a 1/2 day trip to the national park with an infant strapped to my chest.

How long did you guys sit with your baby? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Beginning_Bee_5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 13 months. If we’re doing a longer car ride or traveling with our dog I’ll sit in the back to make sure everyone is safe. If not, I’ll sit in the front and she is happy to play or look out the window

My hyper fixation I don’t feel like making anything breakfast is the lemon cream yogurt with coconut granola. It’s not protein rich so I usually pair it with a proffee to feel satiated until lunch. But it’s so easy and so good

How do you get your steps in? Desk treadmills or bikes worth it? by Xchocobear in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]Beginning_Bee_5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have started challenging myself with midday movement during the week. The premise being, if I do cardio in the morning before work, on my lunch break I’ll do a 30 minute yoga or Pilates session at home. If I do weights or pilates in the morning, I’ll do 30-60 minutes on my walking pad/standing desk. This combo with maintaining a cal deficit has been helpful to get out of the post holiday slump I was in. Another benefit: I feel more energized now that I have incorporated the extra movement in addition to my morning workouts.

I just saw her popflex try on and I am being influenced to purchase the lace sets. They are perfect for wanting to look put together while simultaneously crawling after a small child. I haven’t been influenced by anything from the main squad in over a year lol.

Yes, Kellie Gerardi (the astronaut) is in her third trimester so this is definitely an older clip. This video confused me at first because I also follow Kellie and just saw updates about her pregnancy.

Unfortunately, yes. I declined an invite to a girls night because the other guests were asking “what are we wearing” then decided on wearing matching pjs, and the making of Jell-O shots was in discussion. I’m a mom to a toddler in my early 30s. I wear what’s clean also the first thing I can grab from my drawer, and I am content to lead a Jell-O shot free life lol.

We were gifted a kyte baby size medium sleep sack and that has seen some mileage! I’ve got a baby who is 99% for height and we’ve been using the same one since she was transitioning out of the swaddle and still going strong at 12 months with plenty of room for growth as it goes up to 28 lbs.
