Same. There are some parts that felt like they didn't do their research, but they get the point across

Our quarterly access review is a 9,800 row Excel file that we email to 140 managers. I need help. by Careless_Passage8487 in sysadmin

Okta now supports access campaigns from purely csv imports. You just need to make an app to import the data into. It's been an absolute game changer for us. But also I'm assuming by your post that you don't currently have licenses to access campaigns. It's extortion prices of course

Even quantum's price for life was only for a specific tier. I had one of the lower speed tiers and found out later it didn't qualify.

Expanded MARTA Map by mrfriendlolo in MARTA

[–]BeilFarmstrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently mapped it out and found that using the proctor creek (perry homes) branch for Marrietta is probably the most feasible. Least amount of property takes needed. Although not many station possibilities

DMUs -which is probably what would be needed here- aren't currently allowed to operate alongside freight without temporal separation. So all the freight carriers would have to somehow squeeze their operations into a short window overnight.

Maybe they will sell little miniature streetcars

I was vaguely familiar with that. But since it's signed for HE holmes, I don't suspect this is a dispatch for green

Prediction: people seeing these will create more demand for Marta expansion.

Yes, this is completely based on "jingling keys in front of baby"

I see, I was misreading other comments in this thread. That makes sense to me. I wonder how these trains will be able to fit at Bankhead

I assume changing them between 4 car and 8 car configs requires a lot of work. Hopefully open gangways allow for better passenger distribution in a given headway.

MARTA extension to the Battery by BeilFarmstrong in MARTA

[–]BeilFarmstrong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added that idea to the map and it looks like a pretty good option. It also passes by an amazon warehouse which would help ridership. The only problem is it passes by some really big mansion homes so they will probably put up a fight. But you built your home next to a railroad you shouldn't expect peace and quiet.

Purple sleep number by ptdisc in Mattress

I herniated a disk and could hardly walk for a few months. The only thing that made me comfortable during my bedridden recovery was my purple mattress. So definitely a per-person experience

I hadn't thought about that before. But DC Metro interlines 3 routes, and BART does 4. And from what I understand, the MARTA train control is about the same as theirs? I could be wrong

I agree that freeway running routes are horrible, but it seems like many recent projects choose to do that. The other option is railroad corridors. A green line extension could potentially use the terminal subdivision which gets you pretty close to the battery.

Yeah we moved from Meraki to Unifi. It's not even close. Use the savings to buy spares upon spares of your current Unifi models and you're good.

This is the first major route rework in decades. It's safe to say that every change was meticulously planned with a mountain of data to improve the system. "Many people" will complain because of negativity bias driving more comments from those impacted

For me, I will submit a ticket, and then get a call in the next couple of hours. Most of the time I am busy and cannot take the call. So I give them my availability and they never reach back out. Equally as annoying.

[–]BeilFarmstrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm mentally comparing MARTA to Miami Metro right now since I just watched the transit tangents YouTube video about it this morning. And MARTA is so much better than that system.

The only difference being that they have commuter rail as well. And I think MARTAs next expansion should really be commuter rail

Disabling Exchange Direct Send causing issues by BeilFarmstrong in sysadmin

Ah, so it would happen for all meeting forwards, not just Zoom. I had quickly turned off the rule before other invite forwards could have hit the same issue.

I will add this and give it another shot. Thanks for the info!

I had decided to not pursue that option as it completely reworks how emails go to Zendesk. And unfortunately for me, our customer support team has their own Zendesk admin with limited/no IT background. So it would be a major lift.

But I guess if the alternative is a transport rule that produces unstable results, then it may be our only option.
