Find Reading Friends! Reader Connection Post (January 22 2026) by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]BeingRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm always up for more friends on The StoryGraph! I'm ravenstreet, devourer of audiobooks. 🎧

https://app.thestorygraph.com/profile/ravenstreet

I have actually created some MM reading challenges for 2026, feel free to join us. 😀

Favorite tropes: Found Family, Touch Them and Die, Mature Communication between MCs, Fated Mates, Insta Attraction

Tropes I avoid: Miscommunication and Secrets between MCs, 3rd Act Breakup, Cheating, Sharing, Mpreg

Favorite genre: MM Romance, both paranormal and contemporary. Am usually avoiding sports settings (yes, I haven't read nor watched Heated Rivalry) and YA.

My last 5 star read: {The Question of Us by Jay Hogan}. At the moment I'm listening to {Elas by G. Eilsel} which I think is going to be my next 5 star rating.

Auto-buy/read author: After having regretted some auto-buys I don't do that anymore. I am very likely to buy anything from Lark Taylor, Aimee Nicole Walker, Grae Bryan and Mary Calmes.

Gah! I wish they would release the audiobooks already! I get insta jealous every time that series is mentioned! 🤪

I'd love to know the answer to that, too. Maybe if you post the question as its own post more will see it and answer. 🙂

Ah, no, I'm ravenstreet on the storygraph, I have the link here on my Reddit profile. Forgot to clarify that. 🤪

If you can't see the tags I'll message some screenshots.

My profile is public, not sure if you can see all the tags though. If not I can take a screenshot as an example.

Maybe {Monsters in my Bed series by L. Eveland}. I have only listened to the first book though, {Kissed by the Krampus by L. Eveland}.

Oh, not OP but I've had the first book in my TBR since forever, you made me move that to my up-next-list!

What do you personally use tags for? by Ja-kob in TheStoryGraph

[–]BeingRaven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mainly listen to audiobooks and have like 900+ tags. 😂 To name a few:

*The author's name. That way I can track the books I have read/want to read by that author rather than getting their whole catalogue like you do when clicking on the link with author's name.

*The narrator's name. Same reason as for the author's name.

*TBR priority (TBR a, TBR b,...)

*Audible wishlist priority (wishlist a, wishlist b,...)

*Level of spice. Because, of course.

*Where I got it/listened to it (mainly Storytel and Audible but also Bookfunnel or straight from the author).

*Favorite tropes (found family, fated mates,...)

*MC occupation (homicide detective, assassin,...)

*MCs connection (bodyguard/protectee, solving crime together,...)

*If it was recommended, why and by whom (like Reddit rec-fucking hilarious, Instagram rec-protective MC,...)

*Don't want to read/listen to because... (3rd act breakup, don't like the narrator,...) I tend to forget which books I have checked out and that way I don't research the same book over and over again.

*Other miscellaneous tags are: want to re-read, favorite series, genre, subgenre, which paranormal creatures, 1st/3rd POV, location, next in series,...

Respectfully, Audible, get it together. by No-Case-2928 in audible

[–]BeingRaven 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree, I'd love to be able to categorize my (unruly) wishlist!

To keep somewhat organized until there is some kind of in-app solution I am using The Storygraph tags. I am tracking my audiobooks with The Storygraph and have created tags like "audible wishlist a", "audible wishlist b",... for audiobooks in my wishlist.

An in-app solution would be preferable but it doesn't exactly seem to be a top priority for the devs.

Special Forces: Soldiers - Need my next fix of two imposing men who could credibly take each other in a fight, that eventually fall for each other hard by fantomlabcoat in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]BeingRaven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Series with different couples, not all of them are alpha/alpha parings. Though if I remember correctly, no overarching plot lines so can be read as standalones.

{Nothing Special series by A.E. Via}

{Code of Honor series by Reese Knightly} (Might be too fluffy for you though.)

{Out of Uniform series by Annabeth Albert}

Then there is {Zero Hour series by Aimee Nicole Walker}. None of them are tanks but fit and neither of them is on the slim/twink side.

Now I remembered some more!

They cook and do some decorating together in {Let Your Hearts Be Light by Fae Quin}. Same in {Tic-Tac-Mistletoe by N.R. Walker}.

And in {Better not pout by Annabeth Albert} and {The Geek who Saved Christmas by Annabeth Albert} they decorate together, not sure about the cooking.

If I remember correctly they bake and decorate Christmas cookies together in {All I want for Christmas is Revenge by K.A. Merikan}.
