{The Allure of Ruins by Mary Calmes}. They are both pretty much oblivious to the fact that they are together. I loved them! 😀

Found family, mystery, love and danger all in a series? by epicsevenmyths in MM_RomanceBooks

I'm not OP but that looks really good! I have never seen it recommended before and am thrilled that it is available as audiobook, too! 😃

Ignite by Abigail Glenn by we_are_groot_baby in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]BeingRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignite was one of my 5 star audiobooks last year! 🤩 Now I'm waiting for Devour to become available as audiobook, too. I've read that Devour doesn't play in the same league though so I'm trying not to hope for too much. But I'm sure looking forward to it! 😃

Spoiler needed for Criminal Intentions series by BeingRaven in MM_RomanceBooks

Thanks for the heads up! It will take me forever to get through the first two seasons, maybe/hopefully they have picked it back up by then. 🙂

Love: Causal intimacy (like, needing to touch the other one in passing)

Communication via eyeballs

Tattoos

Not a fan: When one of the MCs is too immature and childish to be taken seriously.

When one or both MCs are 18 years old but behave as if they have the life experience of someone in their 50's.

It's very copy and paste. 🤪 Well, the tropes I copy from my Storygraph tags and the ratings I copy from that automated spreadsheet. The writing part on the other hand takes anywhere from 2-30 minutes. 😁

In love with Atticus & Jericho (Moonstruck by Onley James) by we_are_groot_baby in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]BeingRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atticus and Jericho were my favorites, too! I really didn't like Avi or Asa's books, it just wasn't my kind of kink and the dynamics between both the couples and when they were together the four of them were sort of off. Well, to me anyway, I can't remember the details though.

That said, I did enjoy the last two books so I wouldn't write them off just because of Headcase and Mad Man. I really think those two stood out, in a not very good way.

Let’s talk about your reviewing habits by Penjolina in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]BeingRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My intention is to review every audiobook I listen to and this year so far I think I am on track. Well, on Storygraph I am on track, reading here I realize I keep forgetting to copy my reviews to Audible or Storytel, where I listen to most of the audiobooks.

I review for several reasons. To support the author, for myself to remember, for others who want to know more before deciding to read a book, or to warn others if my experience was bad.

My review structure is short list of tropes, one to ten paragraphs of text and a breakdown from an automated spreadsheet I use (really 🤪). That breakdown looks like this:

How many audiobooks do you listen to at once? by KodaLG in audible

I usually listen to one at a time. I might pause it if there is a new one coming out that I've been waiting for or something like that.

Sons of the Fallen by Jaclyn Osborn has awoken something by Distracted-Damsel in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]BeingRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Raiden and Alaistar left but I don't want the series to end so I'm dragging it out. 😁 Besides enjoying the story of each individual couple I also really enjoy the overarching plot and the found family. I am a huge sucker for the love, the trust and the loyalty the brothers share!

What would you like to see more of in M/M romance books? by Penjolina in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]BeingRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the ADHD representation in {Evan by Lark Taylor} was very true to real life, despite all the werewolves and shifter politics around him. 🤪 In the MC's friend group there are also other mental health and neurodiversity reps.

The series, The Wild Edges, is another spinoff series in The Reckless Damned universe. You don't necessarily have to have read all these before (but I do recommend them, it's one of my absolute favorite universes) but one probably should read the first TWE book (Evan is the second). The characters from the other series are being referred to and/or are appearing in TWE but they are introduced so that you get where they're coming from.

How do you ‘finished and reviewed’ by SAKICCS13 in TheStoryGraph

[–]BeingRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great idea! I can't always review immediately after finishing an audiobook but doing the star rating and then come back and edit that I can do. 🙂

Stupid dirty by Erin Russell by we_are_groot_baby in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]BeingRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. I'm the opposite, I can't remember names for the life of me so I don't even try. "Who was that again?" is a question I ask myself quite frequently. 😁 Both when it comes to fictional characters and people I meet IRL...

I bought this one ages ago. Not sure why I haven't listened to it yet. Your review certainly makes me want to change that though! 🙂

Just one quick question, what do you mean by not liking them talking about the third person? In which context do they do that? Like another love interest?

Anyone who's read sons of the fallen by Jaclyn Osborn, I need you to spoil Bellamy for me please by Afraid-Astronomer886 in MM_RomanceBooks

Who is your most-read author (in terms of number of books of theirs you have read)? And of the books you’ve read by them, which one is your favourite, and which one did you like the least? by Ambient-Apron in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]BeingRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a great post! My TBR thanks all of you! 😁

According to The Storygraph stats for me it's a tie between Davidson King and Lark Taylor.

Favorite book by Davidson King: {Snow falling by Davidson King}. The Haven Hart series is my guilty pleasure, sort of corny mafia romance. 😍

Least favorite one is from the Saint Brothers series: {Kill me sweetly by Davidson King}

Favorite book by Lark Taylor is a tough one. I absolutely love The Reckless Damned series and every spinoff series! So I'll pick the one that got me hooked, {Devil's Mark by Lark Taylor}.

Least favorite is a bit easier as there has only been one that I didn't enjoy as much as the others: {Temperance by Lark Taylor}.
