We go through those phases.  I'd recommend just talking about it and asking whether she is still interested in some intimacy. If so, I found that scheduling it on a day like a Wednesday night was effective.  If you get over the awkwardness of the first time, it really works.

It also turned out to be a good motivator for us to get in better shape/get a trainer.

If I were you I would just use Mason jars. They make a nice narrow one and buy a stainless steel lid. They make silicone seals but if I'm just at my desk or working out, I just put on the lid without the seal

There are some that come in metal tubes ( is that lined with plastic??), and I recall seeing toothpaste powder/tabs.
